Got out for a couple of hours this morning and had a couple of doe swing around behind me and off to my left. I heard a grunt behind me and a nice 8 point was shadowing them, but the does were having none of it. The buck caught my wind and followed my trail right to my tree. I couldn't get a clear shot and he ended up looking straight up and bolted out of there around 30 yards away. He was more interested in the does than me and couldn't bring himself to leave them. The does were getting spooked by him, and everytime he got within 30 yards or so of them they scooted off. He just would slowly follow them and grunt every once in a while. Came within 15 yards of me a few more times, but too much brush. Here we go. :)
That sounds promising! I'm gonna give it a shot this weekend. Hope they're getting that way up here too!
Good luck Pat! Sounds like that new farm could be pretty fun for you
I have around 6-8 does come into my front yard every evening just before dark. Can't make myself shoot one. They act like that aren't afraid of anything. Quess they just love the corn and molasses I serve them too much to be scared away..These are the wife's pets. No deer kills at the house..she cooks the meals so I don't argue with her. :banghead:
pdk, my wifes family is from OK inbetween ada and allen
We have 2 more weeks up here(NY)before they start getting stupid! Shawn
Pat would you just shoot something. My phone is sitting here wasting away waiting for a text... :archer:
I need one to be dumb!
Yep I have been seeing chasing down here.
I'll give it a go, Tim. Planning on getting a doe first unless a nice one tempts me too much. I don't get out as much as I'd like, between work and trying to stay married.
