Best way to describe a Centaur is as good as a bow can get. I've possibly owned 90% of the custom bows out there and you really can't find any better. I believe out of all the bows I owned there's probably only a half dozen that rate up there with the Centaurs. The best way to describe a Centaur is Fast, Forgiving, Quiet and Accurate.
Thanks,

I have owned four Centaur longbows from 58" to 54" Carbon Elite,Double carbon, and all wood models.Without a doubt high end bows all were very fast, quiet and shot great. My favortie was the last all wood model I ordered. It was alittle slower than the carbon models, but was quieter and had more weight to the bow vs carbon limbs so that helped me be stable when shooting.

Larry, the Centaur that I had was very lightweight, slim and extremely fast. Wish I hadn't gotten rid of it! You can't go wrong if you have one lined up.

i traded my griffin for a 62" osage/boo limbs with ebony/cocobolo handle.not real fond of osage.it performs great but just not overly thrilled with the color it ends up but i can live with it.

I've never shot a Griffin but, I'd be surprised if you were disappointed with the Centaur. What weight did you get?

Centaur- Excellent bows. I just received one from Jim about a month ago, a carbon Elite. Black * white ebony and yew at 62" at 47#. Its fast smooth and gorgeous.

I also have a 60" glass bow 48# at 28" thats incredible. Very similar to whats on his website-Gaboon Ebony with pierce points and plum limbs.

Both excellent bows.

I have one of each.  The Centaur I have is the Chimera and has the carbon matrix back. It is quick and no handshock. The Griffin is a little quieter and a different feel to it.....carbon vs bamboo core. Different, but like a man told me they are the two best longbows built.  I'm keeping both!
