I already am thinking of ordering a 2nd bow from Big Jim... Its gonna be a Buffalo Bow but dont know which wood to use...... Possibly zebra wood with snakeskin limbs.....
I am gonna go all out on this one....
any pics/suggestions would be helpful
Dave- i've got some killer Coco and B&W ebony and juniper, and bubbinga, and tamo, and walnut, and zebra, and ....well, you get the picture.
thanks,bigjim
I try to pick a wood and/or combination that not only appeals to me now, but one that I believe will still appeal to me way down the road.
B&w Ebony...The new bow wood of my choice....
I really like cocobolo. Highly figured Myrtle is great too but hard to find.
My favorite is highly figured Yew limbs and Coco handle!!!
How about bloodwood?
bocote if you want a lighter color.
i have been dreaming of an all osage bow.
Dave- I have all of the suggestions on hand including the highly figured myrtle. I am also going to be making a trip to my supplier this week sometime. There is always something expeically interesting when I go. This guy really likes me...I wonder why?
thanks, bigjim
Should you be just as leery of someone who always has an answer or a bowyer who has all the right woods?
Just a note: Highly figured myrtle is beautiful today and will be tomorrow.
