there is just something about building wood arrows.i have been shooting carbons for the last few years but was thinking of building some wood arrows again. i was talking to a trad friend of mine who said he had some acme premiums and some other cedar shafts that he bought a long time ago and that i could have them.i think i am falling for wood again, it was good to be back at it here is what i have done so far.

Wow, those are beautiful! Very nice...

I love wood myself....but..boy they don't last very long. I shoot alot and it seems that I go through them real fast. I recently got some spruce arrows from Elite Arrows. I am saving them for a special occasion. I have been shooting Traditional Only from Three Rivers and they are good arrows and last. :archer: :archer2:
Very nice!
You haven't lost your touch!
Guy
Those are some mighty sweet arrows. How much?
Great especially the 2 w/burn tracks.
Nice work! Do you allways use four feathers? Do a lot of people do the same and why?
Thank you for sharing
Cheers
Fantastic arrows, Sir!
sweet looking arrows.i like the burnt ones too.i am making some right now.what do you use to burn your shafts?thanks for the look, steve
Very nice !you just made me jealous.
Very Nice..
david i started using 4 fletch last year, they fly great and i dont have to look to nock an arrow thats why i use 4 now and im sure thats why alot of people do too.
seabass,i use a propane torch to carefully burn them there was a time when i did that to all my arrows.
thanks for all the compliments.
Great arrows Chad. Looks like you love making them! Are the top shafts douglas fir?
There's something special about hunting and shooting arrows you crafted , very nice .
They look great...I am thinking of going to the 4 fletch banana feathers.
Slick looking sticks you have there
Nice arrows. Another reason I shoot four fletch is you get double the wear because you can shoot both sides. Gary
Wow! Those are some beautiful arrows!
Carbon or aluminum are certainly more practical, but I too hunt with wood arrows. I certainly don't have the talent to make them like you do, though.
Chad, real nice looking arrows.I like you are going back to Woodies.I made them for years and kinda got sidetracked by others.I went out a few nights ago and got reminded why I like them so much. When I shoot with wood arrows theres a part of me involved in the whole process. As far as being durable I loose alot more than I break. They seam to last as well as the alternatives.
your signature is great, steve! sounds like a marx brother's exchange---. :biglaugh:
Gary,Whenever I meet someone or hunt with them, having fun is No.1 priority,I met Felix in May and a greater person you will not find.We just have a little fun on the side.
oops--also forgot to add that your arrows are a work of art. hope to achieve your skill level some day, with practice.
:clapper: Real nice job on the shafts, fella. It's great to shoot and hunt with something you've handcrafted. Keep up the good work!
