Title: shrew classic hunter question
Post by: snow leopard on October 13, 2010, 09:53:00 AM
there is a shrew classic hunter that i am interested in for spring turkey hunting from a ground blind. it's 57lbs.@27", so i would draw about 55lbs.@ my 26" draw. my concern is it's 52" length. i've heard nothing but good about these bows, and i'm thinking it would be perfect for hunting from a blind. btw, i'm 5'7". i would appreciate your opinions. thanks.

The Classic Hunters are awesome bows.  I shoot a 52" Classic and I draw just a shade under 28".  I have shot that bow out of a lot of smaller pop up blinds and it is awesome.  They are great bows and give you lots of room to move around.  Mine is 54#@27" and there is no stack or anything.  At your 26" draw it would be perfect.

How did I know that Tim would jump right on this  :D

I have shot his bow too and I draw 28", no stacking at all. I did find it just a tad squirrly, but that is to be expected with such a short light bow. I could definately get used to it with a little practice.

Definately a great bow and for a blind bow you can not go wrong with it.

They are quite a bow.  I torture test my 56" CH with a 32+ inch draw.  Believe it or not, NO STACK.... Truly an amazing design.

52" should be about perfect for ya. I've shot the 54" CH drawing 29.9999" and it is fine.

Yep,Im sold on the classic Hunter for hunting out of stands and blinds. I think Im more accurate with this 56"er,even at distances over 30 yards, than I am with my 62"ers.

I have a dozen or so Shrews with most of them being Classic Hunters in 54" and 56". I have a 29.5" draw and do not have any problem with the 54" bows stacking on me. A 52" Classic Hunter is absolutely the perfect bow for someone with a short draw length like 26". Definitely get the bow. You will love it.

I had a 52" CH and have an almost 30" draw...NO issues!

They are a sweet little bow for the blinds for sure.
