Starting this year, there will be a new feature called Ask The Bowyer's Journal. Your questions about everything archery will be answered in the magazine and our message board by resident old timer, Charlie Lamb.
Charlie is a veteran of fifty years behind the bow. With many species of big and small game to his credit as well as numerous tournament wins. He brings a wealth of knowledge to our table to be shared with our readers.
We encourage you to contact Charlie with your questions on the TBJ message board www.bowyersjournalboard.com (http://www.bowyersjournalboard.com) Selected entries will appear in future issues of The Bowyer's Journal.

And thanks Charlie for offering your services.

This is great! Charlie has as much knowledge as anyone in trad bowhunting. What i would like to ask is, what is Charlie's opinion on internet dating? :biglaugh:
-
Good deal Charlie. Hope this isn't going to cut into your hunting time. Guess I'll have to come up with a couple of questions for you. :bigsmyl:
-
I'm excited to be part of a great and growing magazine and looking forward to communicating with even more of the finest archer's in the world.
Chad... I can sum it up in one word... and you know what that word is. :D

Rod... you're probably fletching your arrows with a "Blitzenburger". :D
You could just try using a blindfold and give other guys a chance. ;)

Great addition to a great magazine!

Nice addition to the mag Brian. I'm gonna think of a real good one to ask.

"when I put the string on my recurve bow, it seems to me the bowyer mistakenly put the handle backwards on the bow. Can this be corrected?" ;)
Great choice and nice addition to your magazine. I've always enjoyed Mr. Lamb's stories and contributions here.

"resident old timer" What a nice way to put it, dang that Brian has a way with words

Good deal!
When taking trophy photos, is it better to stand next to the critter...
Or to stand behind it like Chuck Adams?

Geez Charlie, hope this doesn't interfere with your offseason scouting :readit:
Shaun, that is priceless....

Excellent choice!
Now Charlie, tell me what Uncle Truman would say about you being in a magazine, writing about "those silly bows and arrys"? ;)

LOL. When I was younger I asked Chuck how he made his deer look so big, what lense did he use? I meant it as a technical question because he seemed to take great pics. He seemed to take great offense at the question. He was a nice guy though, put up with a lot of questions from a young, annoying, bowhunter. :D
Congrats Mr. Lamb! Sounds good.

way to go Charlie ,very fine choice --- herb

That is a FAT HOG.... And the pig is big too. Oh wait... I probably shouldn't joke with people I don't know. Couldn't resist though. I look forward to the column. I need to renew my subscription to the magazine which has really been getting me fired up to make shavings this winter.

Congrats Charlie. I have enjoyed your stories. I hope to share a camp with you one day.

Congrats Charlie. I'm looking forward to reading it.

I had the good fortune of meeting Charlie at one of the MOJAMs, don't remember which one. He is one heck of a nice guy and fun to be around :bigsmyl:
Charlie reminds me of the "Lew and Charlie" series that ran/runs in Fur,Fish and Game magazine. Whenever I read that magazine I picture our Charlie as the one in the story. As I read I just replace whatever weapon they happen to be using with a trad bow.
Good Luck Charlie!!!!!!!! I'm sure you'll do well and am looking forward to reading your column

Excellant Charlie. I'm sure I'll be using your services a bit.
With all your scouting, hunting and now your venture in the literary world, will you ever have time to work on that ERC stave I sent you?
Congratulations to you and The Bowyers Journal. Pat

I want to thank everyone for the kind words and encouragement. I'm tickled to be on board with Brian at Bowyer's Journal.
I suspect we're gonna see great things from this publication.
While I believe I have a lot of answers for most of the common questions in archery, I sure don't know everything.
The secret to getting it done is know WHERE to look for those answers I don't have... and I know right where to go for them. ;)
-
Pat... by next spring that ERC stave should be a bow. I usually make haste slowly with bow making... and most everything else. :D
-
Charlie, When you get to making ERC curls, save them to put in with your stored woolens. It will keep the moths away.
Looking forward to your new article in TBJ. Pat
