I heard a lot of good things about Mr. Kempf's bows. There are many good bows from other bowyers too but sooner or later you can spot some on the classified. I just wonder why so rarely seen the Kempf's bows on the classified.
Great shooting bows that most folks would never get rid of! :archer:
Got my first in '97, and my second in '07, luv them both :archer2:
They are by far the best shooting recurve I have ever owned.
Something extreme would have to happen for me to even consider selling mine.
Matter of fact I have a 52" and another 56" being made in the next couple months.

On top of Jack being an amazing bowyer he is a heckuva nice guy just to have a chat with.
I hope to be able to shake his hand one day.

Thank, guys.
I never knew anyone with a Jack Kempf bow who would be willing to part with it.
BTW for those of you who are interested in Chek Mate bows I got a bit of a heads up yesterday. The company changed hands a while back and although the bows are just as good, and maybe better, the availability sucks. I found two places yesterday that have some in stock and after I get mine I will let you know where they are (for a small fee).
Why is it the best craftsmen are so often poor business people?
Maybe that is why Jack Kempf has done so well for so long, he is both a good craftsman and an astute businessman.
A Jack Kempf Bow is a "pry it from my dead hand" bow.
I originally got one new-to-me from a Gent who was about to get his new Kwyk Styk.
The original set of limbs are 47# at 28" (which if you know me, is light for me). However, they shoot like a 60# plus rocket launcher.
I ordered an extra set of 74# limbs to go with the riser. So, when I can no longer draw the 74# limbs I can use the 47# limbs.
Life is good!
Ming,
Great bows. I have one if you want to try.
Karim
Those who have them, have found they are so nice their just not willing to let them go...Everything you could ask for in a great shooting package..
I have several [ "hovers" right at 20] custom's on my rack, including some from the very best bowyers....Jack's bows give up nothing to them..actually my 60" 58# Kwyk Styk is the one I choose and hunt with the most often....You won't see it in the "classifieds" any time soon either. :wavey:
Here's mine I have now, recieved it from Jack in May this year. Kwyk Styk 56" 55@28. I have a 54" due about the end of the year. Great bow and a even better gentleman to deal with..

I have some additional info about Chek Mate for which I will start a new thread entitled "Chek Mate update"
Jack makes a great bow. Pearl and Jack are just nice people.
I sold 1 a year ago which was a mistake. I probably have as many as I need for my lifetime, 16 or 17 and they are all awesome. Another reason not to sell a Kempf bow...Jack is a day older than dirt! I hope to be hunting mule deer with him tomorrow so he will probably get even for that remark. I will be put back to the bottom of his list again.
Terry
Alright, somebody spill it; how do you get in contact with Jack to place an order for one?
Gonna hafta sell a kidney because of this place.

Froggy and Raging Water, both bows are pretty.
yes sir Jack is a very special,, as are his creations ,, I thought I have too many Kempf Bows(5) but Terry ,, you may have more of Jacks bows than Duane does ,, good going ,, Jack Kempf a true Craftsman, and nice guy, once you own a Kempf Bow you will never sell it as they are better than anything else you have shot and you will only want another ,,
Agree with all above about Jack and his bows -- great bowyer who puts out great bows. I have a 52" on order, and I now own this 56" KS.

Does Jack make a 62" bow? I called him a year ago and put my name on his wait list. But after a year I've yet to hear from him? Can someone please PM me his contact info?
Thank you,
Peter Iacavazzi
text sent brutha ;)
Jack's bows are real gems and put together by one classy guy. You owe it to yourself to at least have a conversation with the man.
It was a long journey [time and money] looking for "THE" holy grail of hunting bows and now the only recurves I own are elusively Kwyk-Styks.
Works for me...
Just curious will the same limbs work for both RH and LH Raven risers? Called Jack earlier today but he is out hunting.
I think his contact info was on the post earlier, but possibly removed by a mod. :coffee:
Gonna' see if Matt will post a couple pictures of mine for me.... Maybe not as pretty as some, but I'm really happy with her.
Gene
Here is Gene at his finest with his Kwyk Styk. I as I recall he took this animal with it.
