Title: New Pronghorn
Post by: Steel on October 11, 2010, 08:04:00 PM
My new 58" 52lb@27" Pronghorn showed up last week and I was not disappointed.I went with plain old hickory and red elm limbs(hunting bow)not fancy compared to my normal bows which are exotic woods but to my suprise it is still a looker in it's own. To save some typing I will just say the bow shoots very, very well. It has some weight to  the bow which helps steady the shot. The bow is quiet and alittle above average speed. Overall a very nice bow and a keeper by my standerds.

I love the red elm. I think they are about as smooth as anything.

Is the hickory or the red elm the veneer? Very cool looking grain. Reminds me a lot of the "Medicine Wood" limbs on a Dale Dye.

Red Elm limbs and Hickory riser. The Hickory Riser is impregnated with something to stabilize the wood gives it good mass weight.
