Title: Rainy day Bow set up.
Post by: capt eddie on October 09, 2010, 11:28:00 PM
I have started to hunt more in the rain, because of having time off work.  I have thought about setting up a Jeffrey's QT metal handle TD.  The bow takes a flipper rest.  I want to use Carbon arrows, plastic vanes, and a string tracker.  With this setup I hope I stand a better chance of finding downed game in the rain. Has anyone esle done something like this?  What advise can you give in setting up the bow and arrows.

One suggestion from me, keep the string tracker at home. The rest sounds like a recipe for wet weather to me!

Never have used a string tracker, and probably never will.  They are great at our hunting ranges, but you better experment with arrow flight using that, before you hunt with it.

I hunt from a ground blind in rainy weather, so I still use feathers no matter what.

If I was gonna hunt in the rain or a chance for rain I would shoot the biggest broadhead I could get to fly and only take very close shots.RC
