Lord knows I have all the bows I need, What with my Quest,Zipper,Widow, and Tall Tines on the rack. I have a Robertson Fatal Styk X being built right now and a new Quest being built as we speek. So why do I keep looking at bowyer's sites, I do not need any more bows,LOL.
Now I am a recurve shooter but have a love for longbows as well, especially 3 piece longbows, so I look at Abes site and what do I see?

This beauty of a Silver Fox in stock with two sets of limbs. So what do I do, yep I pull the string on it and send him a deposit. I am so SICK, LOL.
Me too Danny , I love them all but I can only afford one or maybe two at the time . BTW VERY NICE BOW !
Mike
What a wonderful sickness, eh! I have two bows and can't afford to buy any more for some time, yet even though I love my 2 bows, I can't help looking and dreaming. I am afraid of what I might do if I had some extra money. At least you are spending your money on something that is not bad for you. There is something about traditional bows that seems to grab hold of a person.
She's definetly a looker!!!
and did that made you feel better? maybe for a little while but I bet you are watching more bows right now.
Sorry I dont think there is a cure for your problem.
:archer:
Send me all the longbows and that will get you started in your recovery.I am not leaving out the possibilities of a rehab facility. But lets get you taking baby steps first. Your only hurting us less fortunate hunters around you. I will pm you my addy, this is the best thing for you right now.You may look cool to your friends buying those bows but its only you that hurts from it.So give them to me and lets get you fixed.
These interventions are tough.
I cant see pics at work,so this is a blind congrats on a nice bow.
Embrace the madness and get second job to pay for them.
Oh I do not need another job Lowell, I do very well at the job I have now. Uncle Sam pays me well and I have no other vices. Just making fun of myself, I keep saying I am done and that never lasts,LOL.
I feel your pain Brother, Just got a new RER in last month, I have on order a Tall Tines, Border and a Blacktail, in which I have 2 already. My buddy calls me a Bo - Ho, I kinda like the way it sounds. You only get one shot at this, may as well make the best of it. R.W.
Well I ain't gonna lie, it would be real hard to pass up a bow like that.
Archery keeps me going to work everyday LOL.
Stiks
Gorgeous bow and I'm in the same boat as you. I have owned over 12 different longbows by as many bowyers in the last 12 months (thats when I got into trad).
Worst part on the wallet is I have graduated from used to new. And I now have my first Recurve on Order! :nono:
I've followed your threads for a long time Danny. You need a lot of help and/or a very well paying job....perhaps both!
Just sold 2, have a third for sale. taht will get me down to a sensible 23 bows...lol! Got my eye on a ACS to fill the void the others left....what can I say :dunno:
Funny how as soon as the new wears off , we're thinking of the next one . LOL I hate to say , but I've been guilty of thinking of the next one before the newest arrives. Nice looking bow. gillchaser
Beautiful bow!....just curious, whats the one longbow you would never part with?
This will be the only longbow on my rack Gene. The one recurve I will never part with is my Brackenbury Quest. I have owned some great longbows but the only ones I can shoot consistantly are the three piece like the Silver Fox or Schafer. I have owned almost all of the Jack Harrison models and they are top notch for a two piece or one piece but I am just not consistent with them, so they were sold or traded.
You just figured that out Danny? We've all known that for a long time now. I guess it's good for the soul to admit your problem, huh? LOL
Danny --if that bow had been lefthanded you probably wouldn't have had a chance at it---and I would be in the doghouse again.
Put your credit cards in a glass, fill with water and put in the freezer. If that fails to work, just have fun and enjoy your good fortune.
Danny, I thought you said you "were done trading bows for good"...
... about 35 bows ago!! :saywhat:
I always appreciate reading of your impressions and trading exploits. Enjoy, my friend, enjoy!
Danny, when you are ready to get rid of that bow, just let me know, the check is already written.
Danny, I know you are sick,as I am,but at least you are able to sell them,I can't.
Wayne,
This one is not going anywhere anytime soon if ever.
Felix, if I could keep them all I would but if I had all the bows I have ever owned it would fill up my spare bed room,LOL and my wife would not be happy.
i need a little help with my addiction as well...i need some volunteers to buy me more bows. hahahahahahahahahaaaa.....any takers?
my woman threatened to leave me again if i didnt quit buying and selling bows..told her to quit threatening me and asked her if she wanted help packing... :biglaugh:
Who built this bow Danny....no,no don't tell me....I don't need to be looking at another bowyer's bows.....for now.
She's a beauty!!!
Abe Penner, Cari-Bow custom bows out of Canada. Go ahead David, take a look,LOL.
lol...addict
Danny, I truly feel your pain. I purposely avoid Caribows site because of my own affliction, I want to help you. Please go to my site for assistance and God bless you in your rehabilitation. Steve
 :archer:
Yeah right Steve,LOL.
Danny,
That's a beautiful bow. I've been buying, selling and/or trading recurves and longbows for over 10 years now. I've bought, sold and/or traded in the neighborhood of 150 over the past 10 years. How much do you have me beat by? ;) :biglaugh:
Of course, I only have four shooter bows on hand and two that I bought as keepsakes. I'm through buying and selling (Unless I can find a way of getting enough $$$ to buy a Tall Tines. I've been reading some good things about them)!
Bill
Bill,
I get a headache when I try to remember,LOL. I quit counting years ago,LOL. But you have me beat by about 40 bows from the best I can remember.
I'll have to plead the 5th on that one..... :readit:
know what your saying mate i just bought another two longbows
its addictive
Danny, sick is an understatement. You are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay gone!!!!!! But loving every minute of it.
:wavey:
Sweet Cari-bow though...I can see why you need it. I too shoot the Silver fox the best of Abe's bows. Enjoy!!!
I understand Danny. That beauty even has me considering.WAIT,MUST BACK AWAY......O.K. O.K. back to the shop I know I have some Ebony and Cocobolo out there. :biglaugh: It is very nice Danny I'm sure you will enjoy it.
Bill
I'm positive I have this same illness, I like to refer to it as Dannyitis. My wife said "You want every bow you see." I said "No I don't, just the good ones!!"
Danny, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that is the nicest looking combo I have ever seen. Wow she's a beaut.
Your one Lucky Sicko! Beautifull bows you have! I hope to be as sick as you one day!!
Oh sick is such a relative term. In your defense who could have passed that one up if the piggy bank was filled enough.
That may be the best looking Cari-Bow I have seen and all of ABE's work is stellar.
Best thing about his bows they may just shoot better than they look and that is saying a bunch right there.
ENJOY !!!
D
Very nice Danny
It cost me a marriage... I knew I was in trouble when my Ex-wife told me she wished she was a bow. And I told her I wish she was too...
Maybe that is something you shouldn't tell your wife??? :readit:
lol
Enjoy your new Silver Fox, what an incredible bow. I knew that it wouldn't last long.
Hi, my name is Jerry and I am addicted.....but wait, I want to be addicted and am going to stay that way.
Thanks, Bisch
PS- Congrats on your new toy!
i am sick too.i am now buying character selfbows.before one gets done,i order another.i don't think there is a cure.good luck on your illness brother, steve :help:
Danny, you need to find away to make this a occupation. Then you can WRITE IT OFF!
Had a real nice Silver Fox a few years back and it was the quietest bow I think I've ever shot. The former owner asked to buy it back so I let her go home. Some day I'll find another.
Hope she is exactly what your looking for Danny.
I am not gonna say it, I am not gonna say it. Yes I am "I Told You So" I believe that you said no more when you got the Zipper, Tall Tines and PCH. LOL. You are a sick sick man.
Donald.. :goldtooth:
Gene ;)
:biglaugh: I see a pattern here.
You guys just cannot give me a break, Huh? LOL.
I guess I better not say "No more bows" ever again as I am hopeless. :knothead:
I have only found one way to stay good on the,
" No more bows "
This is the trick and it works; try it you will see and you will feel good about it as well.
" No more bows with wheels "
D
Danny,
A few years back when times were better for me financially I went through the bows. I wrote down what I could remember and it was about 125 bows in 6 years. I dont have one of those bows now. But man did I have fun and I really believe it contributed to my shooting. I have 5 bows now and I have had my Robertson the longest, about 2 1/2 years. I own 3 Tree's Custom and a Dwyer longbow. Love shootin those bows.
