Just thought I'd share my bear hunt from this spring. It was special to me as my father videoed me shooting the bear from the ground with his 1st bow that he killed a bear from the ground with 37 years ago. Please be patient as it may not work when I try to post the link but I'll eventually get it posted.http://monarch-images.smugmug.com/Bowhunting-1/StickFlinger-Manitoba-Bowhunt/11786830_i38Jr#1037936722_GPDK4-A-LB
BTW...I mention my bear outfitting business in the video...and Yes I still have openings. Thanks....Ryan

Just like to thank my cousin Jeremi (who actually knows how to work a computer) for all the awesome editing jobs. Thanks buddy. Jeremi will be getting his 1st stickbow in the next couple weeks so look forward to more vids....Ryan
Congrats on the great bear! The story behind the hunt is even better. Good puck with the business venture.
Great video and I liked that it was a natural ground blind style of hunt. Can you tell me the distance for the shot that you made?

Congrats Ryan, great video one heck of a bear and great bow.I love the bond between your dad and the bow.A old stickbow will last forever just put a string on it!!!!!!
cool, Just plain cool. Father and son Bear hunt video
Great Bear Ryan Congratulations
Ryan, that whole experience with dad is just plain cool bud :notworthy:
Looks like the only reason you had a slight lack of penatration was that you got up into some bone in the should/leg transition. Is that what stopped the arrow?
also what arrow/bh were you using?
Always curious/always learning....
thanx!
He won't have any penetration "problems" next year ;)
But since I have the memory of an elephant...
QuoteThe bow is a 48# 58" Red Wing hunter shooting a 625 grain CX150 with a Tusker Concord and brass insert up front.

Bill
What a great video and great shot :archer2:
Thanks guys! It really was a special day. The shot was 14 yards and the bow/arrow particulars are bang on by Steve O. Thanks again...Ryan
Oh yeah...the arrow went through a rib on the way in and stopped on a rib on the far side. I know it looks through the shoulder but it was about an inch behind the bone. The head was from Sharpster BTW...
A very classy job, all the way around. I enjoyed everything about this video. Thanks for sharing!
Gary
Great video, great story and best of luck with the outfitting business.
thanks for sharing... Joe

As usual another outstanding video. Oh yeah I really need to send your videos back to you. I love seeing you and your Father hunting together. Richard.
Dang it Ryan! You have some bruisers up there. Congrats again! Have you ever thought about putting a dvd together?
Thanks for saharing your hunt, looks like a reat bear.
"great" not reat and sharing. Man those fingers just don't work anymore.
Great video, great shot and even better memories using that bow! Thanks for sharing!
   Awesome bear!
Awesome bear Ryan and Ron. I enjoyed seeing the video in the edited format, another great editing job Jeremi. What a great experience to share with you Dad, congratulations.
Great video, thanks for sharring such a cool experience!
Great video and an awesome bear!
doesn't get much better than that, what a bruin, did you weigh him
Sorry...no weight. he was 7' 6" skinned from nose to tail without pulling. My father worked in a camp that weighed bears so he got very accurate at estimating. He guessed 425.
Wow 7' 6" what a TOAD !!!! Great job with the vid :)
Alright...I get the idea, nobody wants to book a bear hunt with me during deer season. I'll be quiet for now but come post deer season I'm gonna get annoying on here pushing my hunts! Don't make me go to "other" sites to find hunters!! I'd really like to fill up the camp with guys from here. Thanks....Ryan
Congratulations!
Cool video Ryan. What a bear!
Thanks for sharing.
If I didn't already have a great place in Manitoba I'd be giving you a call......
Nice bear and great story.
very cool congradulations!!
YEAH BOY!!!!! :jumper: :jumper: :jumper: :jumper: :jumper:
Very good video and nice bear.
Ryan, are your hunts spring or fall hunts. I'm interested in fall.
Thanks and Congatulations on some beautiful bears!
Glenn
Sorry Glenn...all spring hunts. Personally, I much prefer spring hunts for the consistancy of the action. Less variables to deal with. If you're committed to fall I'll set you up with another outfitter you can count on. Thanks...Ryan
Thanks Ryan, this spring is out but maybe next spring if you have any openings left. Are you doing trad. only hunts or any archery welcome? The bears you have on your site are REALLY nice bears. I'd love to see a color phase at a bait someday.
Hoping you the best on your business!
GLENN
Glenn....2012 is wide open! I'm encouraging Trad. only hunts but will take all bowhunters. Often a "stick" shooter will have "wheelie" buddies and to deny him a hunt with his friends I find wrong. That said, there will be weeks that are Trad. only and hopefully the majority of hunters will shoot stickbows.
As far as seeing a color phase bear.....better chances here than most places. Thanks....Ryan
:clapper: :clapper:
Congratulations with a big bear and nice to see the vid.
Shot with an old Red Wing is just plain cool  :archer:
Margly
Very nice bear and awesome video!!!!
Congrats on a super hunt and a job well done all around. Now that's how a hunting video should be presented. Very classy guys. Keep'em coming.
That was very cool.Thank you for sharing..
Wish I was good enough to video. I have a hard enough time just hunting, much less adding the video complications into things!
Don't worry Steve...we'll get yours next spring on video!
Wel, that is going to be something you are going to have to talk me into...I have NO interest in being a movie star!
Great shot, Great Bear, and Great video
AWSOME!
That was absolutely awesome! Great job and fantastic vid, thanks for sharing it with all of us!
Awesome!
