g'day all
i have just bought a longbow from the states just waiting for it turn up now the bows specs are 55#@26" my draw is 26" it is not cut to centre no shelf you shoot off your hand what spine arrow would i use keeping in mind i wish to use 28" arrows with 125 to 150 gr b/h im asking cause i really do not know where to start
cheers mick
60-65# woods. Make 'em yourself. Addicting. BTW, you can cut an arrow rest if you want.
50/55 should work good too. They would give you a little less spine so it can paradox around the riser better.
With no shelf, the correct spine will be pretty close to the draw weight, or a little less. I agree with Butch. 50-55 should work fine. At least, that's the place to start. Good luck.
Test kit, test kit, test kit. Unless you like buying/making arrows, then you could just guess a few times until you get it right!
Test kit would be great with spines from 50 to 60.
Self bows tend to have a mind of their own when it comes to spine, esp without a shelf. With the 150 gr points, 50-55 should be a good starting point, altho I would leave them long to start and shorten them until you get perfect flight. If you get a test kit, I would start at 40 lb.
thanks for the input guys
