Ok, we will give this another try!!! Am going to leave this going till October 31st.
I am in the hunt for a few new designs, and with 25000 members on here there ought to be a few artist in the mix :)
So what is up for grabs? The winner will get a knife/armguard combo from Farr West Leather, if there is a runner up they will get an armguard with their design in it, I can give them the option of a combo if they desire to buy a knife, or have a knife!
So here are the rules:
NO CLIP ART, originals only please!!!
Designs become the property of Farr West Leather.
The design needs to be one dimensional, simple, ie a track, silhouette, arrowhead, etc.
Please keep it bowhunting related, could take a religious theme?
Have Fun!!!!!
Thanks,
Cool idea Tim, have to pass myself, barely can draw a stick man myself. Should see some great talent on this one. Best wishes
Tim,
Do you have a website? Just wondered what designs yo already have?
Jason
I have an idea or two gonna have to break out the pencil and drawing pad.
How about something like this...

Or maybe something like this...

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I'd take either one on an armguard.
Brian
i second this! i would like a website to see what youve got and what kind of wares you sell. deadline is the 31st? and line work only. i can do this. totally. is there a specific size you need the image to be? format? jpg, png, bmp??
No, I don't have a website up and going yet, hope to get it done by the end of November.
The designs that I have are;
An Arrow
A Deer Track with Dew Claws, Ron calls it "The Booner"
A Grizzly Bear
I just did a Arrowhead, but would like a better one?
Horatio, your designs are awesome looking, but the design that I put in the armguards that I make is made out of wet formed rawhide, and while yes I can do them with multiple cut outs there needs to be room between them to sew.
There is a post on here called something about "Lets see your armguards" I have a few posted on there.
Thanks,

I ain't an artist, but graph paper has always helped me.
If you got a graphic artist to clean this up with a nice typeset font I think Tandy Leather or a custom die maker could make you a trademrk stamp for your leather products.
Based on the directional compass.
Head in the right direction. Go Farr West.

Cool design with the Farr West logo and compass.
Bud B - That is cool!! Well done!
Bud B, very creative. I like that.

Thanks guys

I can't draw for the life of me, but I've always pictured a recurve with static limbs held horizontaly looked like a bird of prey.
I haven't seen many armguards with gators on 'em.
OR...
My son is 5yrs old and can't wait to go froggin' sometime...
and another...
...some different critters to see on armguards, I realize, but it doesn't ALWAYS hafta be about big game animals does it? Thanks for the chance!
Here they are NOT colored in...

Heres a couple more:
I always thought the Olde English Lion would be neat on an armguard given the tradition of the English Longbow. The detail could be scaled back a bit if needed...
A basic Celtic Cross:

Thanks again for the chance!
For another arrow head design this would look cool and still be simple to do.

I like that. You could put the Farr above the arrow, and West below it to keep it all inside the circle.

It was a rebel flag with a longbow and arrow in the center.I guess photobucket doesn't like the south.

Nice scene fish-n-chicks
That could easily be sewn in by hand or with the Tippman Boss and dyed to create a very nice piece.

Thanks Bud. These arm guards are so sweet I gotta try to get one somehow. I don't know how to work leather, but I tried to keep it sew-able for sorts. I gotta tell ya bro, your idea is kick ass too.
Here's my idea. Might be a bit over the top for an armguard but if it could be done it would be sweet. I drew this myself and then had a tattoo done of it.

Just a reminder the designs are make from formed rawhide and need to be kept simple.
Thanks for all the great entries!!!!!
Couple other ideas. Hope these help.

Ok I drew this due to photobucket not liking my rebel flag. Thanks for the chance.

October 31st is coming soon, there are one or two that have been posted that are a possibility, lets see if there are any more????
I'm from australia and am not 100% sure what elk look like but I thought I'd have a go at it anyway... (http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m601/oz_bandit/scan0001.jpg)

I have to say "thanks" for this opportunity! If you can't tell, I had a great time with this. Good luck to all who tried!!! They all look great! :clapper:
To all that entered, there are some great designs here, but nothing that I can work with.
So, with that said, I am going to extend the length of this contest to the end of November
Looking forward to seeing more great designs!!!
Thanks,
Hey, would be great. Enter me please.

You probably can't use this one either, but my daddy didn't raise no quitter! I figure hand stitching the arrowhead would make it look more Trad, and if you can get a brander of your logo... game on!! Or just stamp it? Forgive my ignorance if this or these things are not possible. But you can't win the lottery if you don't play.
Thanks again for the opportunity.

Hi there

I love your existing arrow design and adding an arrow in it's paradox as another option might be neat (http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff513/deplus3/paradox.jpg)

I can send you full size if you love um.
not sure how to post pics very well but how bout the christian sign fish simbol with either a arrow head inside of the symbol or a drawn bow with an arrow on it : looks sharp on paper and makes a broad statment. chuck sorry for no pic.
ps.horns or track also look good inside the symbol or a quiver full of arrows. thanks
I thought Budd B had a great idea...
If done with black leather along with the rawhide, it would look like the night sky...

I second that motion!! Jason
For those of your pulling for Bud, yes he had a great idea, not looking for a logo though, looking for a new design that I can use in the armguards. I pretty much needs to be one dimensional.
