Ok so what is the shortest longbow you have shot and how did it shoot ?
52"treadway...couldn't shoot it well no matter what I did. Also my first longbow so probably more me than the bow.
56" Griffin...no issues and I draw 28".
56" Classic Hunter with a 30" draw.
I shot Steve Gorr's new 58" longbow at denton Hill this year. It shot great, I shoot 3 under. No problem. I want one!
Wildhorse Creek; Mike Dunaway makes a 52" longbow, shoots wonderful...
52" Maddog. I have 2. shoot great for me.
54" Shrew. Great little bow, changed my view of what a "longbow" was.
56" Shrew CH 29 3/4" draw. No problems, and I am on the list. :readit: I shot a Lost Creek 58" for a year when I drew about 29 1/4". It was not bad at all. Most other R/D LB's I need 60" and 62" is best.
56" Classic Hunter Carbon, great shooter at my 291/2" draw.
54" and 56" Shrew
Awesome bows, Shoot great for me.
54" Centaur, shoots great. 54" Morrison ILF, also shoots great. I draw 26", so pinch is not an issue.

Same here. Shrews are incredible. Even the 54" works very well at my 29.5" draw length.

My 58" Elburg Cherokee Magnum. I believe Harry Elburg was ahead of his time in bow design and in making short longbows that really perform.
I shoot a 56" Thunderstick Mag. My go to bow
56" Pronghorn one piece. weighs less than 15 ozs. and is a outstanding preformer.
58" Super Shrew for me, fine shooter. Maybe a dumb question but at what point does a longbow become a shortbow? Seems like near everything is called a longbow nowadays. :dunno:
Made a bow out of a carbon arrow.
Shot pretty darn fast really. Consistent too.
But I don't think that counts.
I got a 52" Lost Creek from Coaster on here and I love this little bow! I draw 28" and it stacks a little the last inch of draw before I hit anchor but not enough to make it uncomfortable or affect it's smoothness. I also have skinny fingers so no problems with finger pinch either. I'm able to shoot softball size groups with it at 20 yards so it will be lethal in a brush blind or my climber that has the bar across the front.
60" Schafer.............works great!
I prefer my 56" ThunderChild and I draw it to nearly 31"s. I find it comfortable, but normally suggest 58" for those with a draw similar to mine. I have thick fingers yet notice no pinch. I guess I suggest the 58" for longer draw simply because you never know how sensitive other archers can be.

New style 58" ACS. Shoots like there longer bows. I draw to 28" and it still pulls as smooth as my 66"
60" Leon Stewart "Slammer Special"... smooth drawing and flat shooting.
58 Kanati, no problems here, a great little bow!
58" Abbott longbow. Good shooter.
56' home made. Very smooth
Big Jim's Thunder Child 56" great bow
54in Centaur,Perfect in every way. Draw 26in
I had a 58" Morrison Dakota. Awesome shooter.
I had a 64" Big Jim Buffalo. It was 86# at 28". Unfortunately, I destroyed the top tip. My fault.
My buddy, Nathan Steele at Bama Bows, fixed it for me. It is now 56" and 98# at 28". It is on its way to me. I will let you know how it shoots.
Matt
54" treadway, no problems @ 28" draw
56" 58#28" Pronghorn
58" 51#@28" Kanati
Both are really smooth. I actually draw them just a bit over 28".
52" Shrew Classic Hunter. Great bow and draws amazingly smooth out to my 28" draw.
52" Rodney Wright Bushbow [flatbow]---55@27.
With my 26" draw just perfect in the thick stuff.
54" Shrew Classic. Great bow. I have one on order.
Shortest bow I have ever shot was the little Herders recurve, it was lousy. the shortest longbow is my wifes Lost Creek NAT. The NAT is faster with same arrows than a 52" recurve we have that is ten pounds heavier, at my 26.5" draw it is smoother, more accurate, has less string angle on the fingers so it gets a better release and it is much quieter.
56" Lee Hoots "Li'l Hoot". Awsome shooting little bow and beautiful workmanship.
56" Beeler Tracker. Excellent bow and a pleasure to shoot.
52" Treadway it's a 20 yd and under bow but shoots good
I am not particularly enamoured with my 52" Abbott or 52" Snow Shoe Bows Bear Paw, but love my Rodney Wright 52" Buffalo Stick.
Slammer special 60" great performance-
54" Super Shrew,my go to bow, super smooth and plenty fast.
98lbs.Man i would have to use my hand ,feet and whatever else i could find to pull that back.LOL
My 48" Elburg Jaguar Mite. That bow SCREAMS!
I founded the "I love my Lost Creek" bow club. My 54" LC NAT smokes an arrow and complete pass through on my bear last week. Love it. Love it. Love it. Did I mention I love my NAT?
54" Treadway - fine out to 28.5. Not a speed demon, (52@28) but fast enought, but very quiet, and smooth and shoots very well for me.
56" Dave Beeler bow. Shot great! Wish I still had it. :( :banghead: Quietest bow I've ever shot, too.
54" Treadway. :archer: I did my second Robin Hood with that Bow! :archer2:
My vote is for Cascades new 56" Brush Hawk. Quite, fast and shoots where you look.
I absolutely love my 56" Big Jim Thunderchild.waiting now for a Cascade 56" BushHawk, should be here any day.
Looking forward to getting a Big Jim Thunderchild 56". Should be a great bow if you can believe what you read on TG. :bigsmyl:
56" Pronghorn, absolutely no hand shock and light as a feather. Also shot a 56" RER Vortex. Great shooter, sweet bow.
Another one of my favorites is the 57" Aspen Elite that was made by Byron Shurg.
I have a new model called the Wolverine Longbow.
Forward handle Comes in 52'' 54'' 56''
52'' 54'' recurve to follow soon. They are not listed on the site yet.
But I could send pic's of the longbow to anyone interested.
It is a Great little bow.
Rodney.
56" Frederick Longbow 59lbs@28" Shoots smooth and quick! Great bow!
