Well it just a couple of day's away the weather looks great Clear and cold. actually I don't remember this cold of an opener ever.
Good luck everyone this season and that goes to all our fellow Trsdgangers :archer2:
I'll be out there. Best of luck everyone!
Looking forward to Friday, be safe and pick a spot. Nice and cool weather with frost warnings for the weekend. :archer:
Count me in! I am usually no more than a bystander watching deer for the first week or so because the weather is so warm and processing deer in that heat just doesnt work.....but it sounds cool as you guys noted, might just have to shoot AT one. Have fun and good luck all!
They will likely be moving for sure with this cold front! I'm stuck working all weekend! Post up any pics if you get one so at least I'll feel like I'm at hunting camp!
Good luck! Have fun and be safe.
My plan is to get out on Friday evening, then all weekend. Good luck to all, and be safe.
Good luck brother and sisters!
Good luck to all!! I hope to get out but it could be difficult with a bunch of family coming to town for a 4pm wedding on sat. I can't believe some one would get married during hunting season.

Just tell them you will make it to the next one. LOL
Hey I got married Oct 4th, who's crazy now!?!?
I am getting pretty pumped up. Jumped a nice buck last friday while hanging a stand. Just what I needed to get me going.
Good luck to all.

I have been checking equipment, sharpening broadheads and counting the hours until Friday. I live for this time of year- I feel like a kid at Christmas time. I will have my ten year old daughter in the ground blind with me on opening day. For me, it gets no better than that! I cannot wait. Best of Luck to everyone, be safe and have fun.
Best of luck to everyone. I gotta work fri,Sat, and Sun. so my opening day won't happen til monday.
I won't be able to hunt my normal spot until the second weekend. I have to get the pontoon out at the cottage up north this weekend. I may be able to sneak out on some state land and do some ground hunting, but the deer population is pretty low around there.
Dave
Good luck everyone! be safe , I will be in Iniana for the opener, down near the Kentucky border, Ohio river valley, getting pretty pumped. Back to hunting here after the 6th, want Paige to get first w/ a bow, lots of deer around the farm couldn't buy one during the early doe season but thats hunting. Todd
Good luck to all my fellow Michiganders! :archer:
I can't wait to see the first Pictures this weekend
Can't wait to get out there. Acorns here are thick in only a few prime areas!!
Bowman....I don't know what the weather is suppose to be Friday, but last season it was 28 degrees, on opening morning.

Facing some new challenges this year, lost my hunting partner to a sudden illness--But I will do my best to mush on.
Don`t waste a single minute...get out every chance you can.
Hunt hard, for all the right reasons.
I got home from work with only a little daylight left. I postponed dinner, and stepped out with my Predator recurve, for the last few minutes of shooting light. Without a word, both of my boys were soon beside me. We shot arrows until the flight was invisible, and only the "thump" of the hit to proclaim our accuracy. One arrow each...pull them, and shoot again.
Getting ready is over...
I humbly proclaim...thank you god.
Good luck to all my new Michigan buds that Mason and I got to meet at Compton this year ! May your arrows fly true !
I can't wait ! I took a vacation day for Friday, my friends holler at me for wasting a vacation day so early in the season, they say to wait for the rut, I just can't help myself, I have to be out there !
Good luck everyone !
Dan
Good luck to you all! I hope that I'll be able to make out there next year. I've been getting a hankering to hunt whitetail again.

It was I don't remmber it being that cold maybe the excitemnt of opening day made it feel warmer :biglaugh:
Today is the day Good luck everyone can't wait to hear the stories and see the pictures
we will be out tonight Good luck to those that are climbing in a stand now
Saw one doe this A.M. It was somethin
Saw 12 does & fawns, had a button buck come up and smell me on the climbing sticks, and run off scaring the rest away. They came in just after daylight, eating acorns. Button buck was the only one within 20 yards. No wind, clear, 34 degrees! Perfect morning to be in the woods!!
I hunted this morning as well. First opening morning hunt in 12-15 years- just felt I needed some quiet time. Had a doe w/2 fawns eating acorns for 1/2 hour, then passed by at 7 yards. Soon after they were gone, another doe w/1 fawn repeated the process and passed by on the same trail. Pretty pleased with my stand setup and tree choice this year. With any wind from N or NW, I'm good to go. Looking like pretty heavy rain this afternoon- planning on headed out fishing and add a few more walleyes to my freezer. Good Luck to all fellow TGers.
Im heading out tonite after work. I will post my pics in the morning! My brother shot a nice 8 point with his compound this a.m., he is happy!
Good luck guys! Sure wish I was roaming the woods with you this fall. I'll live my hunting through you guys so take lots of pictures for me!
Zack :archer2:
I need to be better prepared for northern wind, my spot to hunt the northern breeze is not the greatest spot. Is it my imagination or are we getting more northern winds ? Last year we had our share of northerly breeze, My preferred spot is made to hunt the typical westerly breezes (been hunting it for 20 years !) last year I remember more northern breezes than usual. I guess I better prepare a better spot when the northern wind is happening.
Dan
We saw two groups of turkeys they all stayed just out of range. and 6 doe they never got into range until after shooting light was gone.
Working on bows this morning hunting again this evening
Stay safe and be sure you wear your fall restraint in the stands
We hit it hard for the whole opener. (kids had no school)
The weather was great, with cool temps, a mild steady breeze, and just a couple quick showers.
We were surrounded by sign, but no deer. The last half hour of daylight, my twelve yr old had a button buck saunter out and begin eating in the KNEE DEEP acorns. We were close together, and I could hear the footfalls. He said it was the smallest deer he had ever seen while hunting, and it was all alone. Still sporting most of the summer "red", with clearly visible spots. Maybe something happened to mama, and he is on his own.
No hunting today for us, there are some things we need to do for mom. Continued good luck to all.
The rain slowed them down for me last night, and the farmer plowed for the first time in the fall, thats gonna hurt my season a touch. I seen one 3 point that never got close enough. And about 200 woodys walking right through the middle of the woods like turkeys or deer would. Never in 28 years of hunting have I seen anything like it.
