I've done a search and really didn't find much info.
What stringers do you guys use? Brand? Type?
I have a "Neet" tip style stringer now but every time I try and string my bow, the small end slides too far over the tip and I can't get the string on.
Plus, I am always afraid this thing is going to break a limb tip off. Any suggestions?
Thanks!!!
I've been extremely happy with my Limb Saver recurve stringers...built strong, Made in the USA, and easy to use!
I use the same style and never had a tip break off. Tear some tissue into small pieces and pad them inside the cup until the string nock remains outside the stringer. Depending on the bow, I have 3 stringers, each with a different amount of padding, so they fit all of my bows.

I love the Webster that A&H provides or the Skookum Bow Stringer from 3R. Both are the same design but the edge goes to the Webster for the fact that it has two different size pockets for the top limb.
I have many but my favorite is I think a Selway. Could be wrong but its the one that goes over the bottom tip and over the top limb. Don't ever worry about tip size to get the string on.

Ditto.

I have the same neet style stringer and I've just gotten used to it over time. I don't even put any padding in the cups. Never had any problems with damage to my bows.
Selway-LB or Recurve. Works for me.
Personally I prefer the Selway limbsaver. Interestingly I know two bowyers who greatly prefer one with two cups. They tell me the bow was designed for tension on the tips. One makes his limb tips slightly longer with this in mind.
First and foremost, use a stringer. Second, use one that is SAFE. If you are in danger of the tip comming out of the pocket, it isn't safe. Hummingbird used to sell one that allowed you to use the step through method without damaging the bow. I've used it and can't get used to it, but safety was the driver.
Selway is the one I prefer, but the latest from Black Widow works well with my longbows and recurves.
e-mail sent.
Im a big fan of the Web-Ster
I like the Selway stringer as well!
I do the same as Kevin.
A little tissue in the cup, works like a charmin.

I really like the Selway. Very easy to use and is safe.
