Title: Proper Prior Preparation Prevents Poor Performance
Post by: GrayRhino on September 24, 2010, 04:13:00 PM
With hunting season fast approaching, what are some things you've done in the past, or not done, that ended up adversely affecting your hunt?

Put a new string on my bow, didn't check brace height because "I was sure" it was the same as old string...ended up causing two missed shots....glad it was grouse, not bull moose.  :knothead:

Hunted for the first time with a metal risered ILF bow many years ago.  Wasn't TOO cold, but pretty chilly. Was used to my wooden risers. Had VERY thin gloves on.
That damn riser got sooooo cold it nearly froze my hand off. I never considered the metal giving my hand such trouble but it was killing me holding that thing.
Have overdressed many times......

Under dressed, walked out of my house and it felt like a cool summer morning. When the sun started to come up I was freezing.
