It just felt right to carry it in the woods. I did not get a shot but, did see 7 bucks. Even if they were close, they were safe for the night. I think the compound will be left behind more than I thougth before the season started.
Seven? Wow, nice night!
7 one group of 3, then 2 and 2 more after that. The last 4 were out of range by maybe 400 yards. The first three were 40 yards away. I have been out 3 times and have seen 14 bucks. Only one could have been a double because 6 were on one farm and 7 5 miles away at a different farm. None of them have been bigger than 6 points and 12" wide. I hope they can grow up.
I hope to report half as many when my season opens this Sat.! Here's hoping number 8 for you is within 20yds
wisconsinteacher,
I went on my 8th hunt of the season this morning. EVERY time I pick the recurve up to go hunting I marvel at the balance and the light weight of the bow -- it is a joy to pack!
There were moon shadows this morning--my favorite type of morning. However, a bit of sinus had me sneezing twice -- sheesh, I might have well have hollered at em.
