I bought a longhunter shirt(La Clair's archery)Has to be the best wool investment I ever made.I got a heavy weight and it covers your but,and you can layer under it if needed.I like it better than the wool button up shirts.

I love my L. L. Bean washable wool shirts.  Just got a new catalog yesterday from Woolrich and they have some nice wool shirts as well. I never have any luck finding anything at the local thrift stores.

Pendleton. Best anywhere, and they will probably outlast you.

You don't but wool is worth it on a cold wet day.

You can do pretty well on the auction site, especially if  you wear a L or smaller, XL and up can get competetive $$$.

If I buy new I go to LaClair or GFA, cant beat the quality and price.

Didn't know GFA made button up wool--that's what the guy is looking for according to the title of his post.

This is a Woolrich stag shirt/jacket. I just got a buffalo check shirt in the mail today almost the same color. The latter does not have the double yoke like the stag does.

if you go to the thrift stores do so in the middle of the citys,,,, WHY?   I have found filson, original pendleton, orignal woolrich, Codet, and I have always seen those old wool plaid hunting jackets and pants made by everyone back in the day.

the folks who shop these in the "inner" city do not know what these brands are and honestly they don't care too because it looks ugly to them..

I have several Pendleton shirts and have been very happy with them.  Work well while out hunting but still look nice enough to wear to a meeting or out to eat if you want.  I also have a couple of Cabelas Legacy wool shirts and my wool bibs are Cabelas.  So far I have been pleased with those items as well.

If you go to Colorado's unit 33 south of Meeker and apx 4 miles north of Big Mountain you'll find a narrow trail which leads up to an aspen filled ridge. Travel east off the ridge into the oak brush and somewhere you'll find a woolrich red and black wool shirt size XLT. They can't be that hard to find...

Love Pendleton's shirts........like someone else stated....they'll probably outlast you.

Biggest problem is how $$$ they are new from the stores.  Problem solved!

Check out the "big auction site" and do a search for them.  Folks pretty much give them away.  Usually I pay more for shipping than the shirt.  It shouldn't be a problem finding brand new Pendleton shirts or barely worn shirts. Great color combinations for the fall.

For burrs and such try a Burzz-off.  I think 3 Rivers carries them.  I have one and they work quite well.

I have 2 Thrift stores that are kind enough to call me anytime they take in any XL Pendleton shirts. Like stated before you just have to be alittle patient.
