Who is out and what are the results. Lets see some pics!!
Waiting for it to cool down a little. This weekend looks like it might. Just scouting for now.
Same as lil red.
Heading out in the morning... Getting a little stir-crazy! :jumper:
Waiting for it to cool down also.
My son put a B/C buck on the ground last night. :bigsmyl:
Tracy
C'mon Tracy DETAILS :readit:
Tracy, Tracy - you know you can not leave us hanging like that!!! :archer:
Tracy
Any of you guys in Kansas live anywhere near Hays? I'll be out there around Thanksgiving and again in January.
Tracy's son Tress hunts with a compound, so unfortunately he can't post the pix. But if you want to see it alive, check out the trail cam thread. It's on pg. 29, in the middle of the page and the buck in the very last post on the page with his tounge out.
He killed it on the ground at 8yds. after hunting for 9 hrs. yesterday. They got to share the whole experience with Charlie Lamb, he's out there hunting with Tracy!!
The deer is the one Tress targeted as the one he wanted to kill this year....and he did! It's a monster!!
Tracy told me today he grosses in the high 170's..
Thanks Curt and it is a awesome deer.
Sorry guys I would love to post the pick but I can't, If you would like to see some picks send me a email and I will send you some picks.

It's a dandy I'd love to shoot one like it. Tress is a good young man, now Tracy can we get him interested in traditional since he shot a monster so early in the season? LOL Ben
Tracy and Tress work hard year round; I don't know of two guys who spend more time watching whitetails...
Thanks guys and Ben he can shoot trad and has so I will get him back to it some day when he's ready
Charlie's trying to convince him to shoot a doe with a recurve this year. :goldtooth:

hey pete mcmiller i live 45 min from hays and hunt just south of hays drop a line when you get out this way. Fellas i will have more info on the deer hunting this afternoon i gotta itch to get some thing on the ground and the does have been moving at a good rate in my spot time to try and make meat
I went out last night and had a decent 9 pt 10 yds broadside for about 30 sec. He wasn't bigger than anything I have already killed so I passed. But all those other kills have been with a compound. While at full draw on him with my recurve I thought about it long and hard. Hope this doesn't come back and bite me.
Still waiting for the weather to cool. Hopefully this weekend. I've already seen several while scouting but then they like to tease you before season.
Think I might give it a try this weekend. I have a ground blind built just for the wind we will get this weekend - and the weather is getting more "hunting like".
I just got an email from Tracy with the pics....WOW! I replied that a michigan guy only sees bucks like that behind a fence.....
awesome buck- and very well could have been shot with the recurve- 8yd shot from the gound.....
Tress- go get one with the recurve and "break the ice"....
Congrats, Dave
