I just wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself.
I'm an enthusiast for ANY kind of shooting - I shot target recurve as a kid, and have pulled triggers on stuff from crossbows to .22LR to 120mm (big boom!) and in between. But I'm new to trad archery. As I begin my first forays into hunting, on impulse I picked up a Darton #45 recurve at a garage sale (along with a half dozen arrows and a finger tab). It's the first bow I've bent in about 15 years. I forgot how much I enjoyed archery. Archery compared to other shooting is like a majestic eagle soaring high above a drunk, narcoleptic donkey. I won't be hunting with my recurve for a while, but shooting it has become my wind-down when I get home from work in the mornings.
I've been watching this forum for a few weeks. I'm impressed by the focus, the respect, and the camaraderie that members share. I expect to learn a lot and will try to offer what I'm able. Thanks.
welcome to the gang.keep shooting that recurve.you have found a good place.lots of luck, steve

Welcome Rob.
My roommate in college (Purdue 1977) had a TD Darton recurve. Nice bow. Does yours have metal riser?
By gthe way, you are lucky one of the other 20,000+ tradgangers didn't get that garage sale first! However, from what I can tell of the fellow on here called "Mudd", if he had bought the bow, he'd have just given it to you.
Welcome to Trad Gang. With your last name, I think you should do a search on "John McCullough". :archer:
Welcome to the encyclopedia of wooded bows! If you cant find out here.......you cant find out!
Welcome to the campfire! Where in Ohio are you? I'm a Buckeye by birth, from Cleveland. I keep wanting to get back there every fall for some hunting, but can't seem to get away from work for it.
Warm Welcome from me. I am new also. :clapper:

It's all wood - one piece. I was stunned by the low price, but I couldn't find any splits, cracks, de-lamination, etc. So far, so good.
Welcome to a great site with great people, great information, and some great stories.

I'm originally from Springfield. Spent a bit wandering the world, and now I've settled in the Columbus area.
