Great hunt this afternoon. I had a fawn come in around 8 yards and feed around. I saw movement to my left then a few minutes I saw those white feet coming thru the thicket. She watched her fawn feed for awhile then walked around 5 yards in front of my stand broadside. I had my shot at her but I just couldn't shoot her especially her with a fawn. Then got to watch the fawn and a rabbit chase each other almost laughed out a few times. Wish I had had my video camera. Sometime's it not the kill that makes memories or all about the kill. Great evening !!

God bless,Mudd
Sounds like you had a great time. Hap
Will give you something to reflect on for the rest of your life, great memories for sure,
Looks like she is wearing arrow wraps. That's pretty cool.
Cool looking doe. Thanks.
Gary,
I'm curious...Does her fawn have the socks? That is a really great pic of her as well.
That sounds like a great hunt. sometimes we get to experience more when we don't shoot.

No the fawn doesn't have any white markings other than its spots.
I've got pics of her from the last 3 yrs. Its so cool to see those white feet walking thru the woods.
that's also one of the biggest bodied does i've ever seen!!!
Yeah thats a big doe, bigger than the bucks I have around here. :)
That's cool man, sometimes it is just better to sit back and watch.
She looks like she's built like a tank in that pic :clapper:

That is really cool. Sometimes I just would rather watch them go about their daily lives and take it all in than drop the string.
Like I have said before to you on Facebook I could not shoot her.
James I remember you saying that. When the fawn gets older and loses its spots it may be another story. She doesn't look as stocky in the pic.
Some kind of doe pic! That's a good example of why trail cams are so much fun.

Sounds like a great hunt. I'd have done the same, and have. Thanks for sharing.
It's about being there, not about killing. That's what makes up close archery so awesome.
thats a HUGE doe for my parts
Just found this old post.
AKA "Socks" is still alive and doing well.. I've got pics of her from 08. I've had encounters with her many times since this post. She is so beautiful to watch coming thru the woods,I always see those white feet first... Just thought I would share this with some of the new members. I'll post some pics from my digital camera soon if some of you want to see.
Thanks for bringing this to the top. Great pics and would love to see more pics of socks...
Thats really cool to have a deer like that you can keep up with year after year!
Yeah Gary, post some new picts from this year of her if you can. Too cool. I'm afraid I would have shot her though back in '10.

Busted!
Oh, it's you. Comin' through!
Killdeer :biglaugh:
Very cool. I've got a nice 8 point that I have been hunting for 2 years that we call "Socks" for the same reason. He also has a white rump that makes him look like an elk from behind. He ought to be a great 10 this year.
Ah...reminds me of one I wrote about here years ago....Mr Tuxedo....man was he a beaut...he had knee highs on.
