Whew guys I am beat. Slept in a little later this morning, due to moon phase, then sat a blind for a hour and a half, nothing. Left that spot and went around on back of a ridge where an old home place used to be, lots of pin oaks and small white oaks where it was logged a couple of years ago. Always turkey and deer there, hadnt hunted it since last season. Just walking along, looking for squirrels or anything to fling an arrow at when saw where some fresh dusting had taken place, fresh poop, so I got my head up started slipping along. Had camo shorts, t-shirt and my Ghillie top w/hood, put on my spandex face mask after saw all the sign. I eased along another 100yds, and saw a flash of movement, kept watching, took 5 more steps and just could barely peep over the knoll, turkeys everywhere, close to 20, all bigger birds, saw at least 5 gobblers. The movement I had seen was grapvines jerking, they were feeding on fox grapes, fighting over them. I took 2 steps back, and started easing around the knoll, below a rock bank. Finall got to about 28 yards and run out of cover, all hunkered over, eased my bow around in front of me, squared off and ever so slowly straightened up. 2 of the birds saw me but werent alarmed, closest bird was a gobbler, side ways, 26ish yards, focused on the grapes. I pulled back, anchored hard and watched the Fl. Yellow feathers hit right in the wing butt! He did a double back flip, crow hopped a couple of times, would jump, crash, roll and so on for 150 yards down the hill to the bottom of a steep holler, this old fat man running all the way. I am stoked, I will try to send pics to Mudd to get him to help mem post later today. Thanks for listening!

Nice hunting! That's a pretty tough feat to still hunt and then stalk turkeys. You obviously made several excellent decisions. Great shot also and terrific result.
Well-done!
Nice work...I know the feeling.
you better save some room in the freezer for elk! good job buddy. :clapper:
Nice gobbler. Great story, it made for an exciting read. I swear I could almost hear the arrow smack.
Any turkey with a bow is a true trophy, but a gobbler? Whew, that is super cool. Looks like 8" beard or so, right? :clapper: Great hunt and thanks for sharing.
Way to go sir!
Good job Sam !!
Nice bird.
Guys I appreciate all the replies. I am not that great a turkey hunter, but a blind sow finds an acorn every now and then. One of my good friends, I think, told me no wonder I can slip up on stuff, my butt was so big when camoed up, it looked like the whole woods moving and just plain confused the critterS! LOL! I have been truly blessed the last few years in hunting, especially turkeys. Thanks again for all the comments guys.
good job
