They are all people have said they are...smooth even draw, fast, and no handshock. Infact, this bow feels more like 50# instead of 58#. I guess the 64" length comes into play there a bit. If you shoot one you will have to buy one!...(thus the warning)

Thanks Papa Bear. If I ever sell it I'll give you a call first.
Thanks for the warning.. ...
I can't afford anymore. I still can't afford the Shrew, the MOAB, or the Big Jim's bow. Now I know to stay away from these.... :saywhat: Sure are purdy though.
I can't believe Papa Bear let go of this one :saywhat: What was he thinking
I do know I just got my 56# 60" Griffin "59'r" recurve back in trade and I'm very happy camper :wavey:
Sure!! Now you tell me!!
Hahaha!! I shot one and now I own one and it's getting the call tomorrow morning for our opener here in Missouri.
God bless,Mudd
ok i promise i wont shoot one. :biglaugh:
That is a bow I wish I had yet.
They are VERY nice.
Is there a web site for Griffin bows?
We tried to tell you there is more to life than a Blacktail bow Snag.
Jerry no web site. Get ahold of Glen Ekstrom aka "airrow". Do a search and you find him. He has some for sale I believe.
HEY'''AHHHHHHH'''ME PRECIOUS'''''why snag why? thats torture and inhumane and all that stuff.i sold this bow because i had to buy a new truck...when i went to get the damn truck it was gone.thus the... :readit:
Griffin Brother Snag! Welcome to the brotherhood!
Hey I posted this the other day but here it is again so you have some numbers to fiddle with.
Those Griffins like heavy arrows and they arer whisper quite!
QuoteWell everything is tuned to perfection and ready for this friday's departure. Arrows are flying like lazer guided missiles ....they just need a target zone. Yesterday, I was able to run some arrows thru the chrono at RMSG. Couriousity, definitely killed the cat, I finally had enough and had to know what these arrows were doing. So here's the deal:
Bow:
60" 53@28 McCullough Griffin LB w/450+ 6 strand string.
(I'm pulling 28.5" thinking I'm around 55#)
Arrow:
CX Terminator Select 45/60
100 gr Brass insert
160 gr head (Original Elburg 160 Grizzly circa 1988)
125 gr steel adapter or
75 gr steel adapter for a 235 gr set-up
3-5" Shields
Weight:
681 +/- 2 grains EfoC....27% 12.4 GPP
635 +/- 2 grains EFoC....25% 11.5 GPP
Velocity:
680 gr arrow ............165 fps
635 gr arrow.............175 fps
Also shot a 29.5" BOP Gold Tip. Arrow weight was 585 gr, 10.6 GPP, FoC 23%.
Chrono'd 185 fps.
So it looks as if for every 50 grains of arrow weight, velocity is changed 10 fps.
Anyway, thought it was interesting, not sure how these results stack-up to the rest of the heap, but i do know that the arrows out of this bow fly true and should have no problem anchoring an elk if given the opportunity.

Papa B.
sent you a PM.. let me know if you need a bow for the season..
Gene
Hey David, ya bringin' her next month?
I was trying to forget how I like it when I shot it at Denton Hill. But you just brought it back up...
Thanks!
Stan, I will bring her next month for sure. Hope your hunting has brought you good times!
TJ, I have been loving my Blacktails so much I must say I was a bit blinded. For a R/D bow the Centaur and the Griffin are really nice! I believe it was Blackhawk that said they are the two top bows and I would have to agree...in the R/D category. Blacktails still rule in my recurve category! haha
Mike, I have found this out also. I have been shooting some 600gr Surewoods out of this Griffin and it is loving them! Quiet is the word and very accurate!
I'm telling you, those who haven't shot one, these Griffins are dangerous! :clapper:

Until you shoot an Eaglewing, God bless you and glad you finally brok that addiction Bro.
I have one of Johns rare 56" Griffin's and it will never leave my hands. NOT EVER! at least until I die and the wife sells it at a garage sale for 5 bucks.

Real Nice Bows No Doubt, but unfortunately mine consistently grooped 3-4'' to the right, tuned like a fine Piano ... I'll stick with my Roy Halls, haven't found anything better yet, Good Luck w/her ...
I am amazed at how smooth todays short bows can be.In the day we shot longer bows to get the smooth draw.
You're right snag. Just shot one for the first time today over at Mudd's. He just got it. I don't think I will be able to talk him out of it! I'm looking for my first traditional bow and he spoiled me on my very first day.
SHOOT A GRIFFIN,WANT A GRIFFIN,BUY A GRIFFIN....THATS HOW THAT GO,S...BEST SHOOTIN BOW IN ITS CLASS...EVERY THING ABOUT IT IS GREAT...EXCELENT CRAFTMANSHIP/////
