Title: Digital version of TBM - any opinions?
Post by: riivioristo on September 14, 2010, 02:26:00 PM
Just received a letter from TBM and they noted me, that my three year subscription needs to be renewed - there ia a mention, that a digital version is available ( and save some trees too )...well I surely will continue the subscription (love all the issues!!) but does enyone have any expirience about all digital issues... I just think, that in other hand Digital versions could be handy, BUT when you have a new issue in your hands and feel the anticipation to read it...would it be the same?

I have the digital TBM. I like it, because you can look and the new and old issues with just a click or two. Also I can read it from any computer, so I can read it at my office or at home. However I do like a hard copy as well. I hope this helps.

Me too! I like having the hard copoy but truly enjoy some of the feature articles not found in the magaizines. I'd say there is plenty of room in my life for both  :)

I have had the digital version for about a year, and may switch back to the paper version.  I usually like to read magazines relaxed on the couch, and I haven't found a way to do that comfortably with my computer.  I think I ended up reading more of the articles when I had the paper version.  I keep putting off switching back to the paper version because maybe I'll eventually get used to the computer version and like it better; after all, it is probably the coming thing, not just for TBM, but everything else.

Can you download the digital version and read it off-line?

I like the digital idea a lot.  Quick and convenient reference to old articles can be helpful for a lot of reasons.

I like paper versions of all magazines and books because you can read them where ever you want. However, I am thinking about getting the digital version too because it would be cool to search old issues and print out articles for future reference and such.

I do not believe that all of the older issues are available on line.  The issues that are sold out are available, yes, and fun to read.

There is additional info and "stuff" available as an e-prescriber.

If you like computer screens the e version is awesome.  I had it for a year as well as the paper version.  I liked it.  I am like some of you though and really like my paper magazines.

Wishing they would put together a CD or other e version of the entire set.

I personally hate the digital versions of any printed copy-puts too many people out of work. You probably can't tell I work in the printing trade.

The ability to search old issues is about the only thing I'd prefer about an electronic version.  I like to READ A MAGZINE, not scroll down the computer page.

Digital copies are hard to take to the "john" to read . I also enjoy laying in bed and reading a story or two at night to unwind from the day.

You are correct just sold out old ones.  I may get the paper version to its a pain to bring my notebook computer to read it in the bathroom.   :biglaugh:  DM beat me to it.  I get the new editions quicker too.
