I’ve been having trouble with my bow and noise. I’ve been shooting bows for over 50 years and this is the first time I could not tune the noise out of the bow. It’s a 49# @ 28” and I draw 29and ½”. My arrow weight is 613 gr . With fast flight the bow is nosier then I can handle. With B-50 it is dead quite but has a little hand shock. Is there a string some where in the middle of these two?
:dunno:

I have heard about the new B55 but have not tried it as of this time. It is supposed to have less stretch than b50 or B500 but is safe for all older bows.

I've heard alot of good things about Oliverstacey and SBD skinny strings. You might want to contact one of these outfits via sponsor classifieds. I've been considering a lower strand count string for my bow as well.

Straitera, I’ve been shooting a bow since 1950 and that is the first time I seen a rest like that

Try a different FF type string,I mean I have bows that are quieter with D97 and some quieter with 450+ and some quieter with 8125.I don't care for B50 because it can increase handshock and just feels springy to me.The only bows I shoot with B50 ar a couple of older recurves.

Works great. Fast & quiet. All my hunting bows have one.

How about a picture of that rest straitera?

The B55 streches about 30% less than B50 or B500 so I don't think it will solve your handshock issue. I have green and blue and could make a string if you really want to try it. You might also try BCY Spectra which is the same as Fast Flight. Slightly more stretch than DF97 or TS+. I am assuming your bow is FF compatible.

Sometimes it takes more than heavy arrows and string silencers to quiet a bow. Brace height has to be taken into consideration.
I have a 42# recurve which shoots a 642 grain arrow. The bowstring is 14 strands of Dyna97. It was noisy even with string silencers on it. One would think shooting such a heavy arrow with string silencers, the bow would be quiet upon arrow release. On this bow, the brace height was set at 7 1/4". Since string silencers didn't quiet the bow, I thought changing the brace height could solve the problem. I raised the brace height up to 7 7/8" and the bow shooting the same 642 grain arrow became whisper quiet. I took the string silencers off the bowstring and shot a few arrows to see if the bow would still be quiet. I was surprised to find the bow was still quiet. So, now the bow is quiet and there are no string silencers on the bowstring.

Go back to the B-50 and play with brace... Also add bow hush & bow puppies to Your string.. See if that works.

I use B50 on all my Recurves & tune it.
So far when I'm done I have a very quiet recurve that is dead in my hand with good performance, but then I also use Cat Wiskers for string silencers.
My Zona & my Sky both have 12 strand Flemish strings & my Dorado has a 14 Strand Flemish.

Definitely a cat whisker fan on all my bows. Way quick & too sure & easy not to use. Somebody e-mail me for a pic of my rest & you can post it for everyone to see. I can't post pix.

Fast Flight has been very noisy every time I've tried it no matter what I do. D-97 or D-10 will likely behave much better.

Try to increase the brace height. I have experimented with skinny strings of DF97, TS-1, B50, 450, and regardless of the thickness, thinner strings stretch more thicker of the the same type, and usually respond to increased brace to reduce string noise.

Didn't read all reply's but have you tried a padded loop FF string yet? I really like a 8 strand D97 padded to 16 in the loops. Made all of my bows quieter.

KentuckyTJ I'll give that a try.
