I found a friend in the woods.
His early morning whisper called to me. He smiled and warmed me as streaks of light pierced thru the canopy above. I listened carefully as he quietly shared his secrets. He spoke of accountability as a whitetail fawn froze to the thud of his mothers hoof. The old doe took her responsibilities seriously and was careful to lead her offspring down the right path. For a brief moment I thought of my own son Jacob, and wondered if I was leading him down the correct trail. I was encouraged when my friend whispered he had just recently met Jake. My friend grinned and calmly went on to tell me that Jake’s favorite spot is back on the ridge overlooking the swamp. I was comforted as the air warmed and the leaves danced on the soft earth.
I hope you all enjoy your journey and have a great season. You should be talking to my friend soon. Pick a Spot!

With a handle "Jacobsladder" I have a strong feeling you will do for you Son what is the most important thing a Father can do.
-
Amen. I speak to your (our) friend every day as well.
-
He's with me every minute.
Gets embarrassing sometimes!
Killdeer ~did I do that? :scared:
-
Amen! Talk to him and then listen. He will talk back.
-
I spent time with our friend yesterday
-
A Friend, A Father, A Future, thank you for that and may God bless.
-
Every day, in every way, around the bend or on the mend, friends like Him, are always there.
Hard to imagine, when we compare to our own feeble attempts to be there for family and friends in our caring but flawed and often failed way... that such a "friend" can be so omnipresent and omniscient.
-
Thank you for the Post. As a disabled Vietnam Veteran, I sometimes get mired in my own problems that I forget to talk to him. Thank you so much for the gentle reminding. God Bless and Semper Fi.
-
Amen Steve! Good stuff! Thanks. May the Lord Bless & protect you & your family.

I was reminded this week of something that I had forgotten.....
Friends, even best friends can let you down.
I was reminded by our mutual friend that I may have been guilty of letting one or more of my friends down as well in the past.... or I might do so in the future.... so I needed to forgive.
Our mutual friend has never let me down, he will never leave me or forsake me.
I thank God for you guys and most of all I give thanks for our mutual friend.
His servant
God bless,Mudd

Sometimes I ignore this friend and dont ask his advice. Then everything seems to go wrong. I need to talk to him more often. He always has my best interest at heart. I may fail in my friendship but he never does.
Great post.
-
awesome thread.
-
You my friend have spoken to the soul with those words
Appreciate the reminder to find that closet and have that sweet hour of prayer.
-
Always remember, your Friend will never lead you wrong cause He's always with you.
-
Listening is inevitable in the sacred places we love to be...hearing is optional.
I'm awed by our Friend's paitience and persistence
-
I'm not ashamed to name my friend .......... Jesus Christ.
"There's not a friend like the lowly Jesus ............... no not one, no not one"
(from a hymn)
-
amen to that Bro. :notworthy:
-
I'm not opposed to this but, rule # 5 guys.....
