got my first robinhood today.i should feel good about this.i have a dozen arrows i had made by karin forcier.they fly like lazer beams.they are 23/64 poc.first shot in the 11 ring.second shot split the first right down the middle.i feel good that i am shooting well, but i hate that i split one of my really great shooting arrows.the good news is that the little woman said, why don't you just order some new arrows.i love her.my question is,what fletcher do you guys recomend?i know there is alot of great arrow fletchers that are sponsers on this site.which fletchers do you guys recomend?i like poc but i have been interested in other shaft materials.any imput will be greatly appreciated.thanks guys, steve
Good shooting. I've blown nocks off, but never split a shaft.
Robinhoods are bitter sweet. Congratuatiolns I guess :D on the robinhood and for sure on the wife.
WE NEED PICS. I have yet to get one, and I'm anxious for that time to come.
Congrats Steve. I have been a Fan of Doug Fir and Sitka Spruce lately. I think you should be a fan of a target that offers separate aiming points if you keep shooting like that. Congrats bud
i didn't take a pic.the arrow broke the nock but also hit the end of the taper and split the shaft.i've broke nocks before but never dead center.all of the nocks i broke was when there was a bunch of arrows in the target not just one in the 11 ring.i have been practicing a lot latly tring to get ready for deer season.i think what really helped was shooting 20 ounce bottles tring to get ready to hunt squirrles.btw the wife is a good one.she just gave me my bow jar back.thats the jar i can put extra money in to save for a new bow.i love her.good luck this season guys, steve
Good wife Steve! If you are shooting this good with that bow now perhaps she should hold onto the jar a little longer this way you dont second guess yourself while hunting.
On Second thought if you have the money and have the desire knock yourself out. Most Bowyers would not have your bow done in time for the season anyways.
If you are buying used, wait until someone misses a deer and blames their bow, you may get a better price ;)
Cool. Never even been with anyone who has done that.
Good shooting Steve!!
But....

God bless,Mudd
i split a carbon arrow of a friend , when we shot one or two arrows and then would chance angles to the target.
i guess we wont do that again without pulling arrows haha.
Congrats on the Robin Hood, I got my first this year also. Lets see some pics. :clapper:
Congrats. After twenty years with a compound and no 'hoods, I've done it three times with trad equip. in two years. Go figure.
Congratulations! I did my first back in 1978 with a Jennings T-Star compound. My second was in 1998 With a Hill Redman at 20yds. Great Feeling!
i'll send a pic of the arrow mudd if you will post the pic for me.is it a deal?
You get it to me and I'll get it up on here buddy!
God bless,Mudd
Congrats on the Robinhood shot! I have yet to get one myself,(even though my name is "Robin")! But perhaps soon, as I am feeling real comfortable with my new "Predator Hunter" that I just aquired from Vermonster!
pics are on their way.thanks mudd, steve

The first Robin Hood is always fun, after that its basically $10.
thanks for posting the pics for me mudd.i told you that hat made me shoot straiter lol.
Don't know where to say congrats or sorry
Either way Good Job
It's gotta be the hat. Lol. Nice shooting Steve. I did that once about ten years ago. Of course no one was around. Now I only shoot one or two arrows at a time. Aim for different spots too. I love making arrows but hate breaking them.
Magnus
magnus i had mixed feelings.i like making arrows too.mine just don't fly like these.i am running out of good ones.i guess i'll have to get better at making them, because i can't afford to buy a bunch of customs, steve
Steve.
I know what you mean. Mine fly good but not as pretty as customs. I'm getting better though. Good thing about the girlfriend and her kids shooting. Lots of practice.
Magnus
I've done it 3 times twice with aluminum and once with carbon arrows. It's a great feeling, but you have to shoot a lot of arrows and have a lot more luck.
I like shooting arrows made by anybody... but me!!
:deadhorse: "I hate building arrows!" :deadhorse:
Maybe the hat does do something...lol
Seabass try multi dot targets.
God bless,Mudd
Congrats I think it can get costly
hey mudd.i have a multi dot target, but i hate to shoot it.can't get my arrows out of it.i have been shooting my deer target so i'll be ready when the season rolls around.btw that hat may be my lucky charm.since i got the hat i've been shooting better.i can't explain it.well gotta go.making three indian arrows today for my selfbow.gotta go split and grind some of those turky feathers, steve
