I have a doz arrows spined @ 50-55 lbs, they are 32". If I cut them to 28" will I stiffen them, and do you know appr. how much. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't have a spine tester and I didn't really want to buy one as I usually order arrows cut to my length. I appologize if this is the wrong place to post this.
The spine figures for arrows is for a 28" length.
If you leave the arrows at 32" the dynamic spine will be lower.
If you cut the arrows shorter than 28" the dynamic spine will be higher.
Cutting the arrows to 28" will give a dynamic spine of 50/55.
Confused yet?

Are these wood arrows? Carbon and aluminum are spined on 28" and wood arrows are spined on 26" centers.
I assume he's talking wood since the spine group is 50/55 lbs. That doesn't sound like a carbon figure to me... but I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time by a long shot.
On a wood arrow, although the supports on the spine tester are at 26" the figures derived are for a 28" arrow.
They're wood arrows. I picked them up on sale and thought they would be good for practice and 3D. Thanks for all the help guys, I knew I could get an answer on the best forums on the net.
Arrow spine is figured for a 28" arrow. Longer than 28 = weaker spine and shorter than 28 = stiffer spine.
