I have an older Pearson, possibly a Deerslayer but not sure. It's 58" , 45#@28". Does anyone know the recommended brace height? I've tried everywhere from 7" to 8". It seems to shoot best for me around 7 1/8" but is really loud.At around 8" it is super quiet but for some reason I can't group well with it. Any advice?
your right on the nose.7"to 8" is good.
Ok, thanks.
Are you shooting off the shelf? Maybe try an elevated rest and see if your groups improve.Or maybe your arrows are not properly tuned, maybe too stiff.Brace sounds like your in the range,my 60" Ben Pearson I brace it right at 7&1/2".
The weird thing is when i bare shaft they ffly like bullets and group great right where I'm aiming. When I switch to fletched arrows my groups seem to open up with a flier here and there. I'm shooting off a feather rest by the way. Maybe a fletching clearance problem??
Maybe try adjusting your nock point and see if that helps or if a clearence problem try shooting cock feather in,just some thoughts.
