In Texas is it legal to bow hunt during the general deer season (Nov 6-Jan 2) in addition to the archery season (Oct 2-Nov 5)?
If so I assume blaze orange is required during the general season.
For a non-resident to bow hunt deer on private land do I just need the general hunting license ($315) plus the archery stamp ($7)?
Thanks
You can bowhunt during the general season and you do not have to purchase the archery stamp. Blaze orange is not required on private property.
Yes you can bow hunt in general season no hunters orange required on private land, and you need the non resident general license and archery stamp. Be sure and check the regulation for this year and check for any new changes.I hadn't looked at the new book very close this year.

Thanks.
Danny is right no archery stamp required in general season.
1. The archery stamp is ONLY required in the Special Arcnery (bow) Season - Oct 2nd - Nov 5th.
2. You CAN bowhunt in the general season.
3. Blaze orange is NOT required on private property. It IS required on some public land hunts. Make sure you read the rules if on a public land hunt.
4. You WILL need the general hunting liscense which will come with all deer and turkey tags. You ONLY need to buy the archery stamp if you will be hunting before Nov 6th in the Special Archery (bow) Season.

If you hunt a ranch that has a management permit the season goes until February 28, a lot of the larger ranches have permits.
