I'm relatively new to the traditional scene and am in the process of purchasing my second bow (takedown striker longbow). I have settled on a cocobola riser with bocote limbs (action boo cores). Rick and I spoke about accents tonight for the riser (red & grey). I think it will look great but just wanted to see some of your risers for additional ideas. Thanks in advance!
Both of my Blacktail TD risers are made of the same woods. They are cocobolo footed with shedua separated by myrtle accents.

Osage and gray impregnated maple with purple heart stripe.
With u and I out there this year ODNR will have to increase the tag limit for next year. I don't think the color on your bow is going to matter. Ha ha.
This is the last Mohawk I had built. Osage riser with Coco radius. This pic is from right when I got it, now the Osage is starting to turn that beautiful honey brown that I love. When all said and done I think this combo will look even better.
Have fun deciding on wood combos, its alot of fun. Eric.

Here's a picture of a Blacktail Elite VL one-piece. It is Cocobolo and Mrytle. I'm having a Schafer Silvertip made at this time (TD). I'm strongly considering Charcoal Dymondwood and Coccobolo because both woods are relatively heavy. I really like Mrytle, especially pieces with lots of dark figure.

Checkering was done by Dave the workmanship on the bow is second to none.
Just make sure the limbs won't knock your hat off... :dunno: :D
Here's a purty one! Dale Dye.

Great pics and all but two of of the replies were very informative. :bigsmyl:
hft365,
With you and I out there this year sporting longbows, the rest of the free world can enjoy a drastic increase in the deer population for next year. Oh, and for the arrow builders of the world....we are your best friends.. I'm serious we will prove it... :goldtooth:
:dunno: huh. Must not like pavement grey and yellow stripes.... But the lightin bolts would rock..
Come November Mr. Arrow K9 I will graciously allow you to use my avatar...for a nominal fee of course........
