Title: New Recurve
Post by: Gator1 on January 09, 2007, 05:22:00 PM
Help:

Any feedback on the following bows would be very helpful, I'm trying to sell my Blacktail Elite, to get a new bow.

1. Northwinds Takedown Recurve.
2. Kota Prairie Swift
3. Great Plains "B" Handle One Piece
4. Chek-Mates: Firebird, Raven or Hunter II..

Any help would be appreciated and or advice.

maybe just a stupid question on my part. But why would you sell a Blacktail Elite to get one of these bows you  mention?? Oh well out of all of them I would have to go with the KOTA SWIFT Did you look at the Hornes ridge runner or Mountain bow?

You may not want to hear this but you already own one of the more highly prized bows-certainly more so than anything on your wish list. But you did say 'any help would be appreciated and or advice'. LOL

If there's a better bow for the money than the Chek Mate Hunter II, I'll eat it.  I like and shoot my Hunter II better than anything else I have.  Of course, my TD Hunter 56 isn't finished yet!

Tim Finley's Kota Bows are absolutely top shelf.  I have one of his early TD recurves.  Extremely smooth...

Yup, I sold a Blacktail and kick myself in the A$$ for doing so. That said, look into Jack Kempf and his Kwyk Styk, these bows are flat out shooters. I own two and several others but I only shoot the KS's. If ya buy one do not get the horn limb tips, it looks good but robs some perfromance. Robertsons as well are sweet bows. Out of the ones you mentioned like the Great Plains as I like a high wrist grip or the Hunter 2 with the high wrist. Shawn
