Title: How do you ship your arrows?
Post by: Mike Vines on September 01, 2010, 08:47:00 PM
For those of you who have or do sell arrows, how do you ship them?  I went to the post office the other day to get some triangle boxes, and they told me they are no longer doing the triangle boxes. Also, about how much is it to ship a dozen arrows?

Thanks in advance

You need to go to the USPS website and order them directly from them there. They don't carry the triangle boxes at the PO any more.

I use the triangular shaped medium mailing tubes from the USPS.  Just mailed  6 Beman Classic arrows out Monday in one.  Have recieved arrows in them also, never had a problem. Makes no sense to me why the P.O. carries all those other priority boxes and not the tubes. A small inconvienence, but still better than foolin' with UPS up though.

The last handful I shipped, I used small diameter pvc piping, cut slightly longer than the arrows. I then cut in half, two standard sized water bottles. The bottoms make great end caps. Just taped them in place. Shipped them from WI. to CO. without a problem. I don't remember exactly what the shipping was, but I believe it was in the $8-10 range.

I shipped woodies that I no longer shoot in the rectangular arrow boxes. Cost was dependant on size, weight and shipping distance. I sent them to several different people, cost ranged from $6.00 to around $20.00. Weight and distance made the biggest cost differance. You can calculate shipping costs at USPS.gov if you can weigh the package accuratley.

If they are fletched and made up an arrow box is perfect, if not than the triangular postal boxes! Usually under $10 all made up and insured 2-3 day! Shawn

I use the triangle boxes from the post office, you can order them online at no cost to you.Min. order is 10 boxes, cost on shipping depends on weight and zipcode you ship to.I cut out from scrap carboard two triangle pieces that will fit inside the boxes.I then punch 6 holes in the pieces as an arrow holders, keeps the feathers from getting crushed or damaged and arrows seperated. If I'm shipping a dozen arrows I'll use two triangle boxes and tape them together making more of a square box.I just got 10 triangle boxes shipped to my house,no cost two days ago.Go online Priority mailing supplies are free and they'll ship right to your house.
