Title: Maurice Thompson 5" handle question.
Post by: Danny Roberts on May 17, 2007, 06:27:00 AM
I read in Witchery, he preferred the 5" handle on his self bows but the fades aren't mentioned anywhere. I just figured they were 2" ? Thanks !

They made English longbows. No fades. Their bows bend through the handle. The 5 inch handle reference is probably the handle covering. Where did you read what you are referring to and I'll take a peek later. Jawge

Danny... More than likely, the bows used were of English "styling" at the very least and probably followed that design dogma without varience.

It seems probable that no fades existed on their bows and likely that the bows bent "through the handle" at least a little bit.

Not sure anyone knows for sure or even if any of the Thompson brother's bows exist today.
