Title: Big Jim's Handle Selection
Post by: Scott Feltch on August 31, 2010, 01:04:00 PM
Well, this is my first post back on here since a few years ago. Back in the Mickey Lotz days, when he had his site up with all our bows. Anyway time flies.

I'm thinking about ordering a Big Jim Buffalo bow. My problem is, and the reason I make my own most of the time, I am particular about the grip of my bow. I know Jim has a lot of pics on his website, but it would really help me "get over the fence" if a few of you Big Jim owners could post pics of your handles and tell me what size you selected. Little hard to tell from the website pics.

I want to select from what he has available and is use to making, not send him a handle design that might not mesh well with the bow.

I'd like to see the same, just out of curiosity, and of course because I love the looks if Big Jims bows  :p

Here you go, mine last winter:

I have hands medium sized and ordered medium on the smallish side (I like my handles slim).

Fits me perfectly. Go with the beaver tail grip, that's the most amazing handle material

Jim is shipping me a T/D bow today he happened to have in stock which is exactly my specs (missed weight for another cust) and he assured me he can modify the grip for me. And yes I was very lucky.

I will test it out and send it back for whatever mods I need. Because of the T/D System he can do this after the bow is finished.

On a 1-pc I'm sure he could do the tweaks up front.

Scott I have a Buffalo bow and a Thunderchild on order and Jim took my Royal Crown home with him to somewhat match the grip for me. Give him a call.
