Took my nephew to a shoot and he didn't do so well. So he started practicing a lot but didn't tell me.
Today, he sent me this pic.

Pretty good shooting at about 17 yards. Especially with mismatched arrows.
He did admit that this was his only really good group of the day, but still...
Notice the paper targets, though. He made his sister (6 yo) draw them up.
He also took a melon from the kitchen and his mother wasn't too happy.
Remember when we used to do stuff that we probably shouldn't have? And how when we did really well we needed to tell someone? I think most of us do, because we still do it here.
Never stop being a kid lifes too short. Im sure you told him how good he was . Bet he can't wait to go back out with you.

You bet I did. I hope, and believe, he will continue to shoot trad. He took his archery test at 10 and was the only person, kid or adult, shooting without wheels or pins.
I could hear some of the adults whispering about how tough it must be to shoot a recurve with no sight under the pressure of pass/fail and with a bunch of folks watching.
Yup, proud uncle here. And I am sure he wants to shoot 3D with me... the kind that bleed.
I think everyone of us is able to relate to that one. Determination is an amazing thing.
