Season that is,dogwood berries are already full red, elderberries are deep purple and hanging heavy. Already a new spattering of fresh acorns on the ground. I think things are going to happen quickly this season. What do you think.....
Good Shooting,
Craig
I have been saying the same thing, from the looks of my area anyway!
Craig, Every thing seems to be about two weeks (almost 3) ahead this year.
Seems the same here as well, most of the Oaks are droping acorns and have been for awhile. The Poplar trees are starting to shead some leaves.
Just has the look and feel of an early and cooler than normal fall. Also have noticed the bees really working double time.
Looks early even here in north central Florida..
Acorn crop looks good, but if it doesn't stop raining, they will be floating!
John
They are harvesting crops here in Arkansas and have been for about 2 weeks. Ty
you nailed it man, things will happen fast and early for sure!
Yep!
Bring it!!! I've been waiting for almost a year now!
I feel about as deadly as I've ever felt before in my life.
I have one more major thing I want to get done before "it" happens and that's buying a "cheapo" Bee smoker and get my ghuillie all stinky with it.
God bless,Mudd
PS: If anyone is interested, I found a source for brand new Bee Smokers for under $15 bucks.
Same thing just talking about it last night
Thinkin' of taking vacation time early this year because of it.
Can't wait!
Acorns starting to drop here as well.
Well,
Northern Ontario and even south to northern Minn, and Wis. blue berries are are 2 1/2 weeks early, as are raspberries. Walnut leaves are turning, some dropping, again about 2 weeks early. Acorns from red oaks are starting to drop as are hickory and walnuts ... 2 to 3 weeks early.
Don't know if that means early fall or not. Not sure if it means bad winter comming or nothing really at all. However, it is hard not to hope the hunting will be real good and real soon!
Bob.
Here in texas its HOTTTT.
TXCP
I agree. Acorns all over the place here. And the weather feels like end of September to me.
they cut crops at the beginning of the month! Acorns are dropping like mad here . . . I think that first week of bow season will be awesome :)
I've been ready........Randy
I guess I'm the only one that thinks its a normal year around here. :knothead:
The nut tree's are dropping some and so are some of the fruit tree's but it was such a wet spring they are all loaded to the gills. We have just come out of a long month of 100 degree temps and no rain to speak of.
I have seen some off the tree's changing color and the leaves falling off but I would consider all of this to natures way of surviving and thinning them selves so that they can survive through the drought and heat.
I have talked to several farmers and they will start harvesting the early corn this week. The beans are showing no signs of turning and all of this is about normal for this area. Last year was such a late season it makes it seem early this year but normally all of are corn is done and harvested in September. Last year we had corn in the fields till November and I can't remember that happening since the 80's.
Anyway the bucks around here that we watch every year usually shed in the first 10 days of September and so far they all still have there velvet so we will see.

Guys,
I just have this feeling that things are going to happen fast this year.Lots of food down means lots of deer feeding. Get those broadheads popping hair......
Good shooting,
Craig
Seems like the leaves are falling earlier than usual. Two weeks ago I found a tree dropping acorns already. I was suprised to see that.
