I some time ago had a supplier for tapered maple arrow shafts. However, that has dried up. Does anyone know who might have these shafts? I could use a half or even a dozen. :dunno:
What spine? I have some shafts (from Silent Pond, probably) but they are pretty heavy. I'm leaving for a bear hunt in the morning so I will not be able to respond to you for about 10 days.
Boy, I haven't seen a source of those for some time. I would be interested in finding a source as well. I did get some from Raptor a few years ago but they are not listed on thier site anymore.
Dink's use to handle them. Like Bill said, they are HEAVY.
Maple's ROCK!! I love them, once you have everything tuned right--they will punch through pretty much anything and come back for more.
Silent Pond was sold a number of years ago, the new owner was ok. but I didn't care for his ash shafting. I think he went out of business. I have some of those maple shafts, they are quite heavy. He used to make self nocked ash shafts that I bought that were very good. Wish he would start again.
red pony: Silent Pond did not sell out. He just quit because the Federal Tax laws changed and it made it impossible for him to sell shafts and make any money. He supplied Kustom King and number of other smaller outfits. As for him starting again, don't count on it.
Try calling John at Twig Archery 740-829-2847. Last time I talked to him, he said he had "some limited supplies" of maple left, but wasnt listed on his website. Good guy, might be able to help you depending on what wt. u need.
Switch over to barrel tapered ash. Much better arrow, tough and consistant in weight.
