Title: Two more frames built today!
Post by: Mudd on August 26, 2010, 03:51:00 PM
I have posted pictures of my "on-the-bow" blind before oh here.

Well, I thought I could make one even better than my 1st so I got started this morning.

I made these two frames and I think they are going to be great.

Thanks for looking.

God bless,Mudd

This one has both frames pictured, one of them is attached to my bow.

Here's one of the frame attached to the bow by itself.

This picture is of my 1st blind and the other two frames.

does that effect your sight picture much?

ErikT - I use a bolt and a gadget attachment(straps on) I got from 3 Rivers.(one of our sponsors)

If you have a stabilizer insert already in your bow just bolt it right in.

bornagainbowhunter - Not at all!

You are close enough to the sight window you have a full view.

God bless,Mudd

Does it affect your shot placement compared to not having the blind on the bow?

I can't say it has any negative affect on my shooting but the way I shoot how would I ever know the difference...lol

Those look good.  I bet they would work well for hunting turkeys with out a blind.  Mudd have you tried them on turkeys?

I did but it was right at the end of the season.

I just got the idea in the middle of the turkey hunting season. By the time I made it happen season was almost over.

I think that it works well though and had it proved to my satisfaction when not one but two coyotes came to my calling.

I couldn't shoot either but not because I couldn't get on them. They weren't in season.

They weren't standing together, I had one on each side of me at about 8 and 10 steps respectively.
I was able to count coupe on both without spooking either.

I mean I had the 1st one in my sight picture, did a mental draw on him then moved enough to get on the second one and did the same thing.

I relaxed and just watched them as they drew nearer to inspect a couple of hen decoys that didn't move..lol It was fun to watch.

They finally just walked away never knowing that I was anywhere around.

God bless,Mudd

Mudd, on a similar note, I remember years ago...70's....seeing Larry D. Jones sticking a small evergreen branch in between his quiver and his bow. When the elk would approach him he could have the bow up in a shooting position and the greenery would kind of camo his face. You've just kicked it up a notch as they say.  haha

I use those same fake branches to weave into the riser of my Reflex Nomad.
