Hello..I have a couple of Brazos River Snake Skins that I am going to back a bow with..my question is are they thin enough that the color of the original back will show through or influence the outcome of the bow. The bow is Black Glass front and back..
-
have to have a pic of the skins.. The black glass will make it darker.
-
Thats what I was wondering...I don't have any pics but thought someone that has worked with the skins before would know...
-
Black glass will really bring out the pattern. Are they similar to the Tx Rat Snake skins?
-
Ya kind of I guess...They don't seem to be a real thick skin.

Look like this one??

Naw,seems to be alot darker marking than that one in the pick but who knows..each snake is different.

Sal,
That is a rattler, and yes they swim, had one try and get in the boat with me at Devil's Lake one time(this lake is now part of Amistead Resivour down by Del Rio, got swollowed up when they made Amistead, some of the best fishing there ever was in Texas)

That is what I thought Danny. Looked like a good canidate for a bow skin though.
-
By the way, the Brazos River watersnake is a Threatend species so I would not kill one unless you want to get in trouble with Fish and Game.
-
These skins were bought from Pine Hollow Longbows about 3 or4 years ago.
