Are there glue in brass inserts made for the .246 diameter Gold Tip arrows? All I have been able to find online are screw on weights that go behind the aluminum insert. That seems to me that would make the tip weak with the weight behind the aluminum. Maybe not? I found some on 3rivers and even though they say they are for Gold Tips, the size is 5/16." The diameter of a GT is .246" which is not 5/16."
Also, have any of you tried the nock weights? They are a brass insert that weighs 19.6 grains, I just can't tell for sure which GT nock fits in them. Do the nocks that come with the arrows fit those adapters?
With a 50 grain brass insert, the 19.6 grain nock weight and a 150 grain broadhead, that will give me a 531 grain arrow, with 15% FOC weight. That should be like butter coming off my 51# Quinn.
The inner diameter of your Gold Tips are .246 and the outer diameter is 5/16". They will go in just fine and they will be pretty much flush with the outside of the shaft.
Correction, I don't think the outside is 5/16" exactly.......but it's close. If you ever want to buy field points for those arrows and you see different measurements, you would buy the 5/16" points.
Thanks
I use 50 and 100 grain brass inserts in my Gold Tips, they state 246 diameter, work great.
Same here I use the 100 grain in my GOld Tip entradas

To diverge a bit, why add weight to the nock end unless you need it to tune?
The 50 and 100 muzzy brass inserts fit my goldtips.
I've never used the brass inserts & just used the stock inserts that came with my G.T. Trad 35/55's with a 1" piece of 2117 & my 125gr point or Broadhead.
I've thought to get some of the weights that go into the rear of the insert though.
I use the screw in weights that go behind the insert and they don't affect the arrow any differently than the regular inserts. I also use the nock end adapters and they are aluminum as well, 20 gr. and they accept the screw in weights as well. The good thing about the nock end adapters is that they protect your arrows if another arrow from yourself or someone else does happen to find your nock.
My experience with the nock end weight adapters was that Bohning's Signature nocks fit better than Gold Tip nocks. If you use the GT nocks, they will not push all the way into the adapter. You can still use them but they look odd.
