This is the Friends call me Pac brand.

Picked up a pair of tan Docker pants for $3.00 at Goodwill today. Had a plan to experiment with tie dyeing. Never tried it before but I think this turned out really nice. I can see this blending in while in my treestand or wearing my ghillie while on the ground. Should be a lot cooler than jeans come Oct 1
That is an awesome idea. I think I'm gonna have to try that with my scout suit. What kind of dye did you use?
I used dark brown Rit dye. Bought it at the local grocery store.
Goodwill is having a sale Saturday. $4 for a trash bag load of clothes. I'm should get enough to be set for the season for not very much $$. If they get torn or trashed not out of much money.
Looks great Pac.
Looks pretty darned good. How'd you get the "splotchy" effect?

I tied a simple overhand knot anywhere I could. Had 2 knots on each leg and managed to tie part of 1 leg around the top of the pants. Guess the pattern is pretty much luck of the draw.
Very cool
Hey Pac you might try using some large rubber bands to hold the material that's been twisted then doubled, multiple folding.. then hold in place with rubber bands or tied together tightly with string.
What you did looks good! I was just wondering if you could get larger patterns if you folded it too?
Small patterns tend to blend away at shorter distances, then they look like a solid again.
Good idea all the way around Pac!!
Thanks for sharing!
God bless,Mudd
PS: Can you pm me the link to Arkansas's seasons, license, ect, ect, ect... thanks!
I wasn't going to try this until today. Couldn't go to sleep so I got up and began the experiment. No rubberbands to be found so I did the next best thing, tied the knots in the pants. I figured if I messed them up I was only out three bucks.
It's going to be a long day with no sleep. Who knows what I will come up with next while in a state of delerium.
Pac we should call you the hunting hippie now that you have tie dye camo.Great idea.Oh and now would be a good time to buy stock in Rit Dye
I'm glad the wife's big pot that I used has a black lining and that she didn't wake up during the experiment..
Funny taste? Tastes fine to me. Maybe you put to much garlic in there again. :saywhat:
LOL on the pot/wife thing. Just tie/dye, huh? I thought about that but it didn't quite look like it to me. Came out neat in any case.
Suggestion - next time you go to Goodwill, get yer own cheap, ol' big pot (cheaper than hospital bills or a divorce - I know our retirement checks protect us from wife-ly mayhem to some degree - but let's not be careless out there - :D )
Oh man Pac this is awesome. I have five pairs of tan dockers laying around from going to the police academy here in SC 6 years ago that I'm gonna try this on. Thanks for sharing and love the comment about about the wife's pot :biglaugh:
Old coots say some of the darn-est things!!!...lol
God bless,Mudd
PS: Present company included!!
Don't worry Bernie I was real careful. She retired with one more stripe than me and still pulls rank on me even in retirement. After all these years married to her I have refined sneaky to stay out of trouble.
LOL - That'll work! (Mine doesn't have any stripes but she has an honorary STAR  ;) )
For Tye Dying use Tulip Dye it cost $2.99 her in Michigan. My wife picks it up at Meyer, Michael's & Hobbie Lobby. They have Black, Brown & different Greens to choose from. I thought of this this summer also while my wife was having a tye dye party with her friends and all of thier kids. Just make sure when you was your creation that you do it by itself for a while or you will dye some clothes. I have learned from experience. Also the Rite-dye will fade and not hold color, I wouldn't waste your money on Rite. The only way to go is Tulip Dye.
They look like they have skulls all over them.Dont be suprised if the neighborhood kids start copying your "camo". Nice job.

Agreed. Think it looks great!
Yup,
Looks like skulls or demon faces. Kids will be drooling on em.
I had that same idea myself, but I was worried that all the tie-dying would get me starting to smoke dope. Damn hippies! :biglaugh:
I like it, My niece is into tiedying, i may have to get her to dye me up some huntin' duds.
I saw the same likenesses - but i was afraid to say anything about it for fear they'd think I ALREADY was smoking dope. - Now where's the snacks ....
Some of those faces look a little Skeery.
Well isn't death camo appropriate? I am trying to kill something.
I see some faces in there!
I like it, Pac! Great job!
Pacoflage is in production.
Got 4 pair of pants and 4 shirts in my size today for $4 Added them to what I bought last week. After today I'll have all of my hunting clothes finished and my whole wardrobe might have cost me $15 for the year.

Even got a tiger stripe thing going on this one. Don't know how but wish I did. Should blend in good with limbs, leaves and sky.

Looks good. I'm off to the Good Will store Monday to see what I can find. Great Idea.........Randy
I'm seeing big ol' nasty insect and space alien heads.... :scared: :scared: :dunno:
Pacoflage...i like it! Pretty cool looking camo there sir!
Been using "pacoflage" for a month now and almost all results have been positive. The only deer that have busted me used their nose not their eyes. I have had deer look right through me while in a tree and on the ground. I think it works pretty good.
I asked Buckster to take a pic of me in my homemade cammo. It was at 11:00 am and at about 20 yards. My shirt is actually a store bought cammo shirt but the pants are my homemade cammo. Don't look much different to me.

Great job! I thought about doing this smae thing a long time ago, but never followed through with it. Now, I know I have to go ahead and do it! The price of new hunting clothes is just outrageous and I wear mine out so fast, I get really frustrated at the quality for the price. Thanks for giving me the spark to get this project rolling!
pac that is way to cool! aint it funny how life goes around . when i was younger i used to do that sort of thing. and now that i find camo Gear expencive i may have to just start doing that myself. thank you for the idea. now thats what i call useing ya head. :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
The funny thing is, I was talking to my daughter about doing this very thing for me back several weeks ago. Fall color tie dye colors, is what I was talking to her about.
ASAT works real well, no complaints.. but I figure what the heck... why not.
PAC, you should brand it & sell it fit $40 bucks a copy like all the big box stores. Then we could join them high fullutin hunt clubs, so we don't have to hunt the WMA's in Arkansas! LOL
This camo job looked real good up close everyone!
Escape and evade Pac. Hey, nice job though. Done that oce on a new shirt that caught a blue pen in the wash. Tie dye, new shirt, Mom's sink, Real late at night. What about just buying darker Dockers at good will?
What about just buying darker Dockers at good will?
I picked up a pair of kelly green pants and didn't have to do anything to them. The problem is just about all the pants like these that I find are some kind of tan color.
LOOKS GREAT NOW THATS GOOD OLD AMERICAN KNOW HOW!
Hey guys, I have seen the camo in person. I looks real good. He had a great idea that worked really well.
God Bless,
Nathan
