Title: butcher resources needed
Post by: TexasStick81 on August 24, 2010, 10:33:00 PM
Hey Guys,

I'd like to start butchering some on my own and wondered what you might recommend I get as a resource.  I've come across a few books but thought others might have more book knowledge.  I should also add I'd like to do hogs as well as deer.

Thanks

My concern about a DVD is not being able to have it with me to refer to in the field or during the process.  I'll definately check them out, suggestions on books?  I'll PM you Jerry.  Thanks

Do you mean full out butchering at home in the shop, with saws, and knives, and grinders?

Or, are you talking about getting them skinned, and quartered, and maybe boned out at camp, so you can get them home easier?

All out butchering.  I'm also interested in learning how to use more of the animal (pelts etc) if one source might have info on both.
