Does anyone else shoot banana fletched feathers? I ended up buying a 5.5" high back banana chopper and fletched up a half dozen shafts, and boy do they fly awesome! They seem to stabilize right off the get go. I was shooting 5" parabolics, but I think I'm going to strip all my arrow shafts and go with these.
Love them and you can even make different styles of cut with that chopper.

way cool sal  love the pink fletch
Those pink feathers really make them stand out, don't they. I use 2 whites and one pink on mine.
I get kidded about it all the time, but really just do not care. Goooo pink!
With the white fur tracers You can really see them fly... I. Love Pink it is My Favorite Color... The Ash shafts are even pink, but after the paint dried they got darker then I hoped for...
When I started out bow hunting I with the wheelie bow I use parabolic cut, then when I started to do My on arrows I switched to nana's. I now chop them full length and also 4" out of My 5.5" lil Chopper. You can see the different cut's in the pic.
I switched this summer to nanners. 4-4". Like Sal said you can make manny differerent sizes. White fur tracers on the back look like a bomb when they hit. Play around with your chopper and have fun.

Thanks for the tip - I'll have to experiment with chopping up some shorter ones. My buddy is working on a feather grinder, so maybe I'll be able to try it on some turkey feathers too.
I've been playin with 4x4 banana fletch lately and have been very impressed as well.
I love turkey feathers. Recommend fur tracers for visibility. Check out the how to section. There is a great tutorial on modifying a banana chopper for lower profile.lots of good ideas for go to do it. Good luck.

I love bananna's. I have several sets of arrows with them.
I've been using the 4" nanners and love'em.
BTW, real men wear pink (on their arrows).
How do they hold up when wet? I find shield holds profile better than parabolics.
I never had a problem with them.
I just set up, and started burning my own feathers. They look great, and fly awesome.
Macho, I have quite a few fletched up with big banana feathers and other than big shield cut they are the only shape I shoot. I just like big feathers as they show up better during the shot for me.
I just love the look of a banana-cut! Only cut cooler is the orca :)

You have a pic of them style cut feathers?
I've never heard of those Orca ones, makes me think of the boat on Jaws...
Here's a pic of the arrows I'm using now:

The biggest problem I'm having with them is messing up nocks and tearing fletching from hitting them while practicing.
I'm using Gold Tip Traditional blems I got from bigjims. I put half a reflective cap wrap over the blem markings for extra awesomeness.
Only shoot 1 arrow.
I have to now! I've got 4 targets set up at different angles and ranges that I shoot one arrow each at now. It's the first shot that's most important, right?
only drawback, noisy
You can find a picture of the orca-cut here :

I tried to find a better picture of the fletch in an old post, but there was too many to browse through :p
I'll upload the pic when I get home from work :)
It seems to me that shields are noisier than the parabolics, where do the bananna cuts fall on that spectrum?
And, where can you buy bananna feathers?
Do you have to cut or burn your own?

Not the ones I'm burning. They fly great, and all you hear is the thump of the target.
