Just got my new Cabela's Archery catalog and was looking at the Sequoia. Seems like a good price{229.99} for a bow with bamboo/glass limbs. Anyone know about these bows? Thanks for your comments, Ron
Smooth shooter, thicker grip, nice longbow for the money!
might be a good bow but they have the worst customer service i have ever dealt with....
Very good shooting bow, I had one gave it to my son he loves it.
What Steve said --Bone
I purchased one last year and love it. It's my first longbow and I don't have anything to compare it to, but I think it's cool. The first thing I did was take the large stamped "Sequoia" off so it looks better.
I have heard good things about the Sequoia, but let me propose an alternative. For around the same amount ($225) you can get a Mutt longbow from Maddog archery, one of Tradgang's sponsors. The customer service will be better, but there may be a slight wait involved.
I own a PSE and I like AZ_Shooter's alternative. I like the idea of being able to call the bowyer up and talking with him. I have no idea who made my Sequoia. I believe that I found mine new on some auction site for the $150 range.
Keep an eye on the bows for sale on this site, you can find some great deals and meet some great folks.
Ron,
Last year the PSE Pro Shop in Tucson had their Sequoias that were unsold or returns from Cabela's, Bass Pro Shop, etc. Bought one that looked new for $100 to play with, other than some hand shock and less than perfect finish (ugly decals) it is a good bow that shot well, some might not like the large grip made larger by the grip tape. PSE was and I expect still has their trad bows built by Ragim of Italy. I do agree with the others that it is possible to find a nicer bow in the classified right here.
Got one
wish I had none
Wont by another PSE
I agree that PSE has very bad customer service!
