Is there such a thing?
When I go afield (and for me that is in remote areas), I carry a good load of arrows just in case. Every once in a while the fletching gets sheered off from stump shooting the wrong object. While I have a lot of back up, what always bothers me is that once you loose the fletching your arrow is mostly useless. And that feeling of helplessness bothers me. It would be nice to have a lightweight, small portable jig. I love my Bitzenberger but don't feel I want to be carrying this heavy item around in my pack.
I know, I know I am probably being too obsessive about wanting to manage any and all situations in the field. That's just my nature.
So......anyone out there know of a portable jig or something that is close to it?

I HAVEN'T TRIED IT, BUT I THINK SOME OF THE FLETCHING TAPE IN YOUR PACK WOULD WORK FOR EMERGENCY REPAIRS TO A DETACHED FEATHER - - -
What about a nylon jig like the Grayling or Martin and cut off the "legs" to make it more packable?

I wonder if a fella could in a pinch use some fletching tape and eye ball the quick in the field fix. No jig involved.
Try it once you will be amazed how close you can come.
I should have also mentioned it is far easier with straight feathers, and put them down with a good bit of offset. It will spin them plenty good enough.
Friends have fletched ALL their arrows with two pins, some glue and patience. It takes a bit of time, but it works. They're only shooting elk though, so what do they know? :)

yup, fletch tape and a clamp is all you need.
The EZ Fletch hardly weighs anything and pretty compact. It does not put a lot of helical but it works.
On my side, I use artificial sinew or waxed linen and eyball Mk I.
I wrap the feather with the line.
After having made several rotation, I adjust the feather and continue wraping between feather's barbs up to the nock.
The first two or three arrows will be a bit tricky but it then goes quite well and needs only some linen and some glue to fix it.!
