My new Dale Stahl T/D recurve arrived at The Archery Shop last Thursday. I picked it up Saturday and shot it enough, 4 shots, to know it is like all of the other Dale Stahl bows I've owned. It's buttery smooth, very quiet and very, very fast for a 62", 47#@28" bow shooting 500+ gr arrows.
Below are some pics of it:

The limbs have some gorgeous Birdseye Bocote Veneers and Dale did a phenomenal job on the limb bolt pads! The riser is gorgeous, too. And it shoots just as beautiful as it looks.

WOW one of the best looking bows I've seen.
Nice!!
That is a beautiful bow, good luck with it.
Ken
That's a beaut. November and a Super Wildcat (1-piece) sould be headed to me! Dale hasn't called me yet for the final decison on woods yet.
WHEEWW DOGGY!
Very nice!
Sweet bow Bill!
Bill,
That bow is stunning. I may have to get one of them.
What are the riser woods? The light wood looks like Mrytle or Tiger? Is the "reddish" cocobolo?
Amazing, but how do you take something like that out in to the woods? Too pretty.
One of the best looking Dale Stahl bows I've seen to date! Congrats Bill. :clapper:

The riser woods are Bocote and Cocobolo with black Phenolic and Cocobolo accent stripes down the center of the riser. The bow has so many accents on the riser I'm not sure I can definitively say what all of them are.

Roy,
I may be wrong, but I think the Super Wildcat is built by Brandon Stahl from OH. Dale Stahl is from PA.
Bill
Yes they are different. Both excellent bowyers. This is a gorgeous bow and the Wildcat is a gorgeous bow.
We are all blessed to live in a time of excellency and some of the best bowyers the world has ever seen in my opinion. These are the good old days in that respect.
God Bless you and thanks for showing your beautiful bow. I would put my name on that one in a hot second and I'm pickey. Steve
That is flat out gorgeous!!!
Yep, I got them confused. Actually, I didn't know where Dale Stahl was from. My Super Wildcat will be from Rose Oak Creations in NW Ohio.
Thats a beauty!
Roy,
Yes, both Dale and Brandon build some beautiful bows. In fact, Brandon builds some rather unique bows.
My first Dale Stahl T/D recurve was a somewhat plain Jane Bubinga riser with gray actionwood stripe and Red Elm limbs. But it was a great shooting bow. I've tried dozens of times over the past 7 or 8 years to talk the owner of The Archery Shop to sell it back to me. He still owns it!! :(
I've had 3 or 4 other Dale Stahl bows since then and foolishly I've sold all of them. I won't be selling this one, unless I get to the point that I can no longer shoot it. But then again, I may just hang it on the wall to look at along with my relatively new Marriah Thermal Ric Anderson built for me and the new to me Crow Creek Black Feather T/D longbow that I shipped to Elmer yesterday to have him refinish.
Bill
wow, that is one good looking bow there.
Wildman, wish it was left handed because the way you go through bows you'll have it for sale next week LOL. Absolutely stunning it's a beauty.....stabow
stabow,
This one won't be going up for sale. It is a sweet looking and shooting bow. Mr. Stahl makes one of the best shooting recurves I've had the privilege of owning.
Bill
Nice combination of woods, beautiful bow!!
Great lookin bow, I love that riser.
browndown,
Do you know, or know of, Mr. Stahl? I think he lives somewhere in the Philadelphia area. The town he lives in is Rockledge, PA.
Bill
That is a beautiful bow, I'm looking forward to seeing it on the classifieds in the future..lol! Really ,it is a work of art!!
Good for you Bill!
We do have to pamper ourselves once in awhile huh?
Super good looking bow!

I love the detail Dale puts into his bows.
Does he have a website to look at other examples?

Unfortunately, Dale doesn't have a website. But you can do a search for Dale Stahl Recurves in Pow Wow and you will find quite a few threads with pics of his bows.

I can't take credit for picking out the specific woods, only the combination of Cocobolo and Bocote. Mr. Stahl' eye for detail picked out the pieces of wood and put them in the right locations. He called me about 6 weeks ago and said he was getting ready to glue up the limbs. He asked if he could put some Curly Maple under the Cocobolo on the limb bolt pads. I told him I would leave the specific woods and the locations of the woods to him. I think I made the right decision!

Hmmmm, some on here would say I pamper myself more than most do. But, when I get a bow in mind I sell enough bows to pay for it! Right now I'm down to a Marriah Thermal, a Crow Creek Black Feather longbow, a Fox Triple Crown longbow and the Dale Stahl recurve. They are all great looking, well built and great shooting bows.

I'm not sure of the scheduled date, but I think there will be a shoot at the Lake Marion Archery Club, perchance. But, if what you are wanting is the opportunity to shoot my Stahl Recurve, come to The Archery Shop on just about any Saturday and I'll be there with it for a couple of hours from 11:30 to 1:30, or so. The shop can re reached by taking exit 194, turning left, driving to the light at Hwy 78, turn left and then you'll drive about two miles or so and there'll be a Sunoco gas station on your left. Across from the gas station there is a turn to the right that will go over the RR tracks and take you into the loop of an industrial park. Stay on the road until just before it starts turning left and the shop is on the immediate left. Look for all of the pickups and you will have found it! :) The phone number for the shop is (843) 875-9613 if you get close, but miss it. Give Budro, the owner, a call and he'll give you directions from wherever you are.
Bill
Does Dale Stahl have a website?
Thanks up front.
Very beautiful bow!
