I tuned an arrow for my shrew that came out to be 710 grains from a 54# bow.I got a 300gr field point W/ 50gr brass insert on a CX250 cut to 31". They come out a little over 13gpp.I never intended to get them that heavy but they fly great and hit hard.
I shoot 780 grians out of a 60# bow, 13 gpp. Like you said they fly great and hit hard. The kinetic energy and momentum is way up there and they have a extreme FOC. Also the bow feels great with a heavy arrow.
Mine came out that way for the same reason yours did. I like the CX shafts, but I can't figure out how they calculate their spine. I spine tested CX 150s and they spined at 82#. I am shooting 150s because the 250s I had to leave full length with all that weight up front to get them to fly.

765 to 795grn are the arrows I have for My 50# recurve
660 grains and #45 for 14.6gpp
They're slow but they hit hard, right where I'm looking.
I shoot one set for 3 bows from 50-55# at my draw length,that weigh 709 grs.I have another bow,app 53# at my draw and those arrows are 715 grs..I guess they would all be about 13-13.5 GPP.
When I did the first set,I didn't intend to go that heavy either.To go a spine group lower,the arrows would have been lighter than I wanted and less FOC than I hoped for so that is how it came out.The performance has been so impressive that I'll be probably staying with them.I like to keep all the bows shooting app the same gpp when possible.
I'm shooting 775gr. AD Hammer Heads arrows with, 100gr brass insert and a 265gr Tusker BH. I am shooting a 70" 55#@28" Yew Mahahntango longbow. This is my first year for this set up. Looking forward to putting a punch on some thing other then my targets.
Well I'll throw in my pennies. I'm just shy of 13 GPP. I'm at 12.8 GPP. I'm shooting a McCullough Griffin 60" 53@28.
Arrows are CX Terminator Select 45/60, 100 gr brass insert 160 point w/ 125 gr steel adapter, 3-5" Shields. 678 gr total weight, 27% FoC.
I purposely wanted to build a Extreme FoC arrow. With these shafts it was the best I could do. Fly like a cruise missile and hit like Thor's Hammer.

I sometimes shoot a 700 grain arrow for hogs out of my 50lb bows, works great, most shots are 18 yards or so, trajectory is no problem. For deer I shoot 650 grains which is still 13GPP, works for me.
I build all my arrows to have extreme FOC and it seems to be almost impossible to get much below 13 gpp and still obtain the EFOC. I love arrows at this weight.
I honestly dont know my finnished arrow weight but they're pretty heavy from my 55 lb recurve. 30" ash shaft w/ 3 5.5" feathers w/ 190 grain grizzly el grandes. They fly great and are real quiet.
