All the comforts of home
Hey you should fix your horse shoe..Your letting the luck run out...You can never get lost in a yurt.
that is way cool but i think it is suposed to be on the ground not up off it. :biglaugh:
High fashion right there!! Very cool Jim :campfire:
that really looks great, question??? if a man got the backdoor trotts, it being round, how would he ever find the door in the middle of the night? you couldn't find a corner, and i'm sure your buddies wouldn't give you a place to squat. i do like it off the ground, especially knowing how "DEEP" it can get around a hunting camp. :campfire:
Is that a "skylight" I see........we are talkin' high-tech!
Gee whiz, that's just too dang cool. I like the scoreboard! Looks like you're ready to go. Now you just need one of these:

Thats pretty awsome.Lets see pics of the inside.
Very nice. Did you pick that up in the U.S. or import it? I've seen sources for those more internationally. The freight was a substantial amount of the total.
Are your plans to leave it up more permanent, or seasonally?
ITS GREAT!!!!!
So when does season start?
Too Cool! :bigsmyl:

this yurt is 24 feet in diameter the clear dome at center is 12 feet five inches, around 400 square feet of living space. I am going to heat it with a small box wood stove and eventually wire it so we can have a small refrigerator and micro wave. probably a camp stove. A couple of cots , easy chairs and a space to hang gear and clothes
good call on the bows one is indeed a Cascade Night hawk and the other is a Fox High Sierra recurve. both are three piece take downs
The yurt was made in Colorado
now that is cool!can you post the maker and how to contact them?
Yeah keep us up on the progress..Very cool. Nice place to stay.

Is that Hunting camp or a survivor commercial.Great stuff!
LOOKS GOOD!
That's just too cool! Man, that's my dream hunting camp!
Little big man - there is a DVD called "The Story of the Weeping Camel " - in which they show the inside of a yurt - you might enjoy some ideas from it.
The DVD is one I bought for my sons and their families - because it is a spectacular DVD.
It was shot and produced in Mongolia. :campfire:
To cool!
Brian,, thanks i'll check that out.
Thank you for the pic that thing is cool good luck hunting.
I stayed in a resort in VA that had yurts as one of their rental options. They were luxury appointed inside with inside bath, kitchen, granite tops, king size bed and big flat screen tv. You can make a yurt as bare or luxurious as you want. Very nice.
here are some interior photos, still need a table and chairs, small refrig and counter with sink

project for the weekend, get the chimney installed.
Better than the Ritz.... :notworthy
That is fantastic! A friend of mine has property down there too. We are thinking of putting up a tipi at his place.
Really nice work! Good luck this season!
Very nice!
Do the roof rafters really rest-are supported by a small piece of cable/rope? Can't believe that would support much, if any sloppy, wet snow? Would think the rafters resting in the V on top of the side wall would be a lot more stronger than the cable/rope?
Otherwise a great looking camp.
No but I can say "Ger"!
Nice camp! What kind of wood is the lattice and rafters made of?
awesome! when do we hunt? :archer2: todd
yes airplane cable encircles the top and buckles together over the door jam. it actually is an incredibly strong and stable structure and you can enforce it even more by adding 2x4's vertically beneath each roof rafter and screwed into the floor if you so desire
Rafters are fir and lightly stained , not sure on the wood in the lattice.
just a little over 2 weeks till opening day!
Fantastic Camp
This is slick!
